When did you find out you got the job?

how long after an interview did you find out if you got the job?

If I give you a summary of my interview could you maybe give me your opinions as to how you think it went?

Interview lasted a little over an hour. They asked me questions, I asked them questions. After I asked my questions they asked me several times if I had MORE questions. After the interview they gave me a tour and introduced me to the clinical nurse specialist.

The position is for labor and delivery and when I asked them

"If I do not get this job, what advice would you give me so that I can secure this job in the future?"

their response was : "That is a great question. To be honest there really isn't anything that I can think of, you've done great. The only drawback I can foresee is the fact that you are a new graduate"

I do think your interview went very well according to your description. Do you know if they are truly open to hiring new grads? Did they know you were a new grad going into the interview?

It usually takes 1-2 weeks to receive an offer if they do choose to make you one. I am still considered a new grad, and had a 2nd interview at a Pediatric clinic this morning. To me it went very well. I made it very clear to the nurses that I want a supportive learning environment and made sure to ask them "How do you like training new nurses?" I wanted their full input. We all know there are many nurses who will "eat their young" when it comes to training new grads....so make sure they fully understand that you want a place of employment that will "mold" you and be supportive. :)

They repeatedly asked me if I had MORE questions this morning as well. I told them the nurse manager had given me her email just in case something popped into my head, as it often does when you leave the interview.

Good luck to you!!! Let us know when you hear.

For my new grad job I interviewed on a Wednesday and had a voicemail from HR on Friday afternoon.

Loved your question. I've got to go write it down before I forget it!

For the new grad position I just started I had to wait a horrible 6 weeks to get my offer.

My job offer came 3 weeks after interview.

I got offered the job the next day.

One very long and painful month!! I didn't think my interview went particularly well, although they did compliment my outfit. I was so nervous and on the verge of tears/vomiting the entire time. It sounds like you did really well, though. Fingers crossed!

wow I am so sorry you were that stressed! What type of position were you interviewing for?

Meeee too! I would cry at the drop of a hat while I was waiting to hear! I think my issue was that everyone in my class who interviewed the same week as me heard after a week or two. Came to find out later that the unit director of the unit I was a CNA on and the unit director of the ED who used to be the unit director of the unit I was a CNA on were "arguing" about who should get me, so I guess that was good. Didn't make the waiting any easier though since I found that out after the fact.

Immediately after the interview. I was told the background check was a formality. Was also asked to call a former employer to ask for references. I told her that I was told by one former boss that she didn't give out personal references, it all had to go through HR. I should've known right then and there that this place was very unprofessional! lol Yep, I still work there. Jobs aren't all that easy to come by these days.:(

I interviewed for a position back in May. My interview went a lot like yours. I interviewed and was asked several questions and I also asked several questions. The manager decided to give me a tour after the interview. There were 3 positions open different times of day/ amount of hours and I applied for all three. Two of those positions have been cancelled and the third is open but i have not heard anything. I specified that the one that is open is the one that works best for me. I have seen in the news that this hospital had lay-offs over the summer and one of the comments said they are on a hiring freeze. My point in stating that is that there are so many different factors when it comes to making a decision that it is so hard to say until you actually get an offer or rejection. Good luck to you, though! I would suggest to follow up by email if two weeks go by with no word.
