What did you do before you were a nurse?

Nurses come from all walks of life. I'm just curious about other jobs people have help before they began their nursing careers. The more obscure the better. :)

Mommy, vet tech, group home manager with developmentally disabled adults.

I analyzed and wrote personality assessments - great job! but I moved to be with my husband so I decided to go to nursing school.

I was actually a CNA first because my mom thought it would be a good idea to see what their job entailed while I waited to get into a program. It paid the bills but I was not happy! LOL

I was a vet tech, a secretary, a waitress, and a mental health tech at a forensics evaluation unit. Personally I'd have loved to go to vet school but chemistry kicks my BUTT! But I like being a psych nurse lol.

Fast food worker, CNA, factory worker, elementary school teacher, CNA. Now, I'm in nursing school.

I was a deli clerk at a grocery store. It was a job I had til I went to LVN school, then an LVN til I went to RN school.

waited tables, worked in one hr photo lab, kmart, convenience store, nanny, daycare, factory worker, courier for lawyer - most of while I was in HS or college. I love nursing...but some days the clock in, clock out, little responsibility jobs dont seem as bad as they used to....

Right out of high school, I studied to become an animator, but then went to military, and then met a very skilled civilian LVN working at the base clinic who inspired me, so went to nursing school after discharge.

I was a personal banker for 10 years full-time and a bartender part-time.
