UTMB Spring 2010

Does anyone know about how much longer until we know about the B2 program at UTMB?? Im thinking this friday or next monday, but just wondering if anyone had any other info about it. Getting so nervous! Good luck everyone!!!

My guess would be that it'll be mid-week next week (as I think they're interviewing still this Friday), but that doesn't mean that I'm not checking my application status hourly :-P.

Yeah, we should be finding something out very soon because interviews start next week and they said they will let us know a week b4 our schedules date.We are probably ganna hear something either this Friday or the latest next Tuesday.

Did they only do that one Friday for Bacc2? Or has there/will there be more?

I'm pretty sure that they did 10/16 and 10/23 and will probably do this coming friday, 10/30 as well. I could be completely wrong, but I think regular interviews are starting 11/6. Also, when I went in, they were only interviewing two people at a time. If you guess 30 minutes scheduled per interview then that's only 32 interviews on that day. I sure wish I knew for sure.

Hey guys!

I spoke someone last Wednesday and she said that they were still reviewing applicants for the Generic program. She said to be patient and that we probably wont hear anything until the second week of November.

I predict that as soon as the Fast-track is accepted the process should speed up rather quickly.

thanks to all you guys who stood up for my post a while back!!!! i am very frustrated and had no idea about the rude comments made afterwards until now. i would just like to take a second to defend myself here!!! i am extremely frustrated because why on earth would you make a deadline that is an entire month before other schools if you were not going to get back to us sooner. and yes i hope i don't have an interview on the 6th because i do have to work and i work at a hospital as a nurse tech and its not that easy to just say hey i cant work this friday. i would love to go to utmb so no i dont plan on retracting my application...they are my first choice school and i just think it is ridiculous that they are taking this long to get back to me when i am going to find out about an acceptance in a few weeks from another school. i mean do they honestly expect us to just pull everything together in 1 month???? ive been in nursing school before and things dont usually work that way!!!

so my apologies for expressing my opinion...i will never use my right to free speech on this site again.

No problem alana rose, this is suppose to be a sight where we all can talk about our frustrations and help each other thru it. So don't feel because of one bad apple who nobody knows where it came from try to ruin our group we are all still here and ready to listen whenever.Feel free to voice your opinion cause we sure in the hey is.

Alana Rose, you should express your opinion no matter what :) Heck Ive been frusturated numerous times too & expressed it. I do see where your coming from about the whole application process, hopefully UTMB will get it together soon :)

Hey. This is sort of in response to my own post but in case anyone else has been wondering; could help with timeline as well.

I asked in email if there will be more Bacc2 interviews and whether we have to have a bacc2 interview first before entering the traditional pool. This is the response:

There will be more interviews Nov. 6, if you are selected for an interview you will be sent an e-mail. If you do not get invited for a BACC2 interview and if you meet the criteria for the BSN, your file will be placed in the BSN pool. Interviews are also being conducted and if you are selected for an interview, you will be sent an e-mail.

So I think Nov. 6 is still for Bacc2 then traditional the next week. thats what i gather. Hope this was helpful for someone!

I will know if I got into UT Houston before I probably get an interview at UTMB...I almost have to laugh. This is a little crazy. Thank God I applied to another school because I would be freaking out right now!!!! FYI UT Houston is my first choice. If they do decide to offer me a slot I will retract my application to make a slot for someone else. I have a 4.0 and 9 yrs med experience so I am pretty sure UTMB will offer me one and I would hate to take that slot for anyone. Stay patient guys...this process sucks BIG TIME and everyones nerves are on edge. I got into a tiff with someone on the UT Houston blog so dont feel bad. For some this process is easy and for some it has been a nightmare.
