UTMB FALL 2014

Hello everyone! I have been following this thread for a little while now and thought I'd finally jump in :) I have also applied for Fall 2014! Unfortunately I have not received an interview invite yet, but I am trying to stay positive in hopes that I'll get in on the next wave! But I believe there are some CONGRATULATIONS in order to all those who have been accepted! That is awesome! I really hope to be able to join y'all soon! :) Also, for those who already went through with their interviews- It is good to hear that it was a relaxed experience! I already know that I will be super nervous if I get one. Do you all have any tips? Are there any specific topics we should prepare ourselves for when the time comes? Any reply would be much appreciated! And to anyone who is still waiting for their interview as well, keep your chin up! We can do this :)

I am hoping I will be in the next group! Awesome jobs and congrats to all who have been accepted. I still have my hopes up. Hopefully I will be joining the Fall class of 2014!!! Its really not bad at all! Be prepared to talk about what was in your essay, strengths, weaknesses, etc. It is just like a job interview, except with really nice people! You'll be fine!

Exactly, just show enthusiasm and interest. Be prepared to explain the kind of student you are, what you will do to ensure success in the program, where you'll be living, and the type of family support you currently have.

My best advice is to relax and be yourself!! These people are nurses, which automatically means they care about others. :) When you're in your interview, everyone in the room wants you to succeed (even if it's only 2 people). That's what helped me feel better about the whole thing. Leave them thinking, "I want this person to be a nurse one day!!".

Did anyone receive emails or did those still waiting have a status change?

Still no status change for me.

I didn't either. I also emailed this morning and did not get a response.

It makes me feel better that there are a few of us. I felt good about my interview so hopefully it doesn't mean anything bad that they haven't changed some of the statuses yet

I haven't either. All three of us interviewed on February 10th, too. How odd.

I received an email with my new mystar username. It is used to check our to do list, financial aid, etc. I was told during my interview that the admissions committee meets on Mondays, for whatever it's worth. Good luck ladies!

Congratulations to everyone who's gotten accepted so far!!! :) For anyone waiting on an admission decision or an interview, good luck!!! I'm still waiting on an interview myself.

A question though for anyone who's gotten accepted WITHOUT an interview- Did you apply for the honors scholarship? I have a friend who also got accepted without an interview and she told me she did not apply for the honors scholarship even though she was invited to. So I thought maybe that MIGHT be a reason why some acceptances may be delayed. Just wondering!
