Theme of the day....

Alright everybody...let's have some fun

In the ED I work in we try to come up with a daily theme..something humerous, apathetic...a little cynicsm helps. like: "we can't cure what you can't spell"... get the idea?

We thought about getting long sleeved t-shirts with "Your tazer certified nurse" printed on the sleeves. That should get some people's attention in the ED...

Nah... just print 'Imigration' on them. You'll have a much slower day.... at least those of you down south. (sorry... I'm a Texan... gotta vent)

Yesterday must have been "Dementia Day". I have never seen so many confused people in the ED at one time.

staff nurses, tech's, clerks, PA's, attending included? ohhh... we have a lot of those... :roll

what about wound check days? Fast Track, 3am-5am pt's coming in for wound check???

How about Low Wattage Parents Day? (for them that aren't too bright?)

That's actually nicer than what we have... "Stupid Mom Syndrome Days"

We have an RT that swears there is an "I thing breathing is optional day"

scraping the barrel " miss-matched socks day " ?????

I thought of a few:

-What non food was consumed day

-Honest doctor I slipped and it got lodged there day

( If want people to leave you alone)- deoderant optional day

- grandma panties day

-talk like cartman from south park day

-how many curse words can fit into one sentence day(I celebrate this one daily)

What about "Vaginomegally Day"?

You know, when you have a bunch of grown men crying and whining.

Case in point: A tattoo laden 250 lb. man with multiple piercings freaking out over an IV.

Or a 35 year old man that threw up once and his mama brings him in at 2am.

..........you get the point.........:chuckle

Today was "name that cough" day. It seemed that every single pt had a cough. There were dry coughs, congested coughs, fake coughs, wheezy coughs, and the nurse-I-need-you-now cough.

After about 4 coughs from different rooms in a row, we began to laugh. After that we made the game - "Name that cough!"

Yes we were bored!

What about "Vaginomegaly Day"?

:chuckle

Too funny Leah ... going to have to remember that one! :smokin:

How about "No, Grandma doesn't have a living will and we never talked about it but I want you to do everything to keep her alive even though she has cancer everywhere and doesn't know who she is anymore" day?

And I love FLK Day (Funny Looking Kid).

And don't forget "THE PATIENT DICTATES HIS CARE" day. :barf01:

The last one is also known as "The nurses and doctors go out after work and have a few beers" day

How about "tooth to tatoo ratio day?" We love that one.
