Happy School Nurse's Day to All of You!!!
I just want to thank everyone for being so kind and sharing your knowledge. As I've stated before in my previous posts, I am a new(ish) RN (three years since graduating nursing school but two years since receiving the title RN, it took me awhile to take the NCLEX). You may not know it but all of the posts made here have made me feel more confident in my abilities as a nurse. I have been on other message boards on this site, including when I was once a nursing student. And this board is truly the best! Everyone is so kind and helpful compared to other posters on this site. These are the type of nurses I look up to in real life. We were all beginners at one time so thank you for being patient and kind regarding whatever questions (even silly ones!) I post. Enjoy the day!!:)

Thanks. The School Nurse Forum is a good one!
But I hang around the other parts of AN too. :)

I do as well but I mostly lurk! I can remember when I was in nursing school and would lurk over to the school nurse forum thinking how fun it would be to work as a school nurse someday. Never thought it would happen!

I feel the same way! Nurses need other nurses to thrive. It was reading this forum that led me to think that school nursing could be a viable option, and it is through the support here that I have been able to feel it still is a viable option. I love it so much and don't want to quit, but the growing pains in this role are unlike any other nursing growing pains I have had. However, reading everyone else's stories and worries keeps me feeling that I can make it through them. So thankful for all of you!

I love to get on the SN site and see what everyone else is doing and how situations are handled. I have learned so much from all of you and as i read through everything i realize we are all in the same boat, seeing the same things and dealing with many of the same issues. Dealing with parents, teachers and even some of the kids can be very frustrating and at times totally overwhelming but with all of you it keeps me sane and makes me feel like i am not "just the nurse" but an important part of the educational team! My school year ends June 9th and i CANNOT WAIT!
