Just wondering how common Tattoos are in the nursing field. Random- I know. :)

A lot of students at my school have them, but they have to be covered unfortunately. It's too bad, because they're beautiful.

Not random, there have been a bunch of posts about this. I have a lot of tattoos & plan on getting a bunch more. But I plan on getting them in places where there can be covered up because I know not all employers view tattoos the same way I do.
I have just been wondering. I love tattoos and have 4 of them. I would love to get more however they are sometimes hard to hide working in HR

Um, not random at all----there are countless threads on this already =) Tattoos are everywhere, it's probably more common to find people with them than without them.

AFAIK you may run into problems at school, however I've seen plenty of nurses at magnet hospitals with them uncovered.

Definitely depends on where you work. In the ER I work at, I'd say something like 60-70% of nurses have at least one tattoo. They don't really cover them either. A couple nurses even have tattoo sleeves.

I have a sleeve and tons on my legs as well as my knuckles. I have to have them covered for school, but I have TONS of friends that have even more than I do and they do just fine with them at work.
There's something so kickass about an ER RN with tattoos. There just is.
How do you cover the tattoos on your knuckles?

Very common. I have visible tattoos and have yet had to cover them, nor have they kept me from getting a job at a hospital. And I do plan on getting more.
I also work with lots of people who have tattoos...neck, full sleeves, wrists, etc. And don't get me started on the ED staff...I dare you to find an inch of non-tatted skin down there;)

I have 6. They have to be covered during clinicals and some lab teachers want them covered as well.
