None for us yet. Other local school districts have been getting hit, though so we are gearing up for it. Hope it's not too bad.Hang in there, Praiser!

We had our wave come through late Sept and early Oct. My absences and illnesses are back to running about average, but for a while there I had 10% of the school out sick. I am bracing myself for the next wave!

We've gotten hit pretty hard as well. I'd say getting close to 10%. We've also had stomach viruses and strep. It's been a sickly few weeks! I'm hoping we'll start tapering off soon. I've not gotten much other work done trying to combat our illnesses!

Been pretty quiet for the last 2 weeks. Before that, I had a line of kids out the door- all with temps above 102.0.

Past two weeks I sent home average 20 kids a day w/ fever over 101. Slowing down now. I don't know what to do with myself, only sent home 2 so fartoday. I got used to a line out my door at 800 am. Fires me up that parents don't keep obviously ill children at home. They look so sick and uncomfortable.

Swine flu is starting to hit here along with strep and nausea and vomiting. We also have a viral illness that is going around that is about as bad as the flu.

One of my schools closed this week at a 40% absence rate. The other two are muddling along with increasing numbers every day. (still in the 20% range). It has been NUTS!!!! Then why am I on All Nurses, you ask? Daughter home sick (not oinking, though!)

Had our first confirmed case today though I have been seeing lots of kiddos with temps >100 and the coughing and/or sneezing. This early surge has kept me a lot busier this year than last year. I am hoping for this wave to pass soon.......

Here in Dallas, we had a few weeks of large numbers out with Flu like Symptoms but it has slowed down to almost nothing right now. I am thinking, but hoping not, that this may be the calm before the storm. I have been doing a lot of praying on the way to school each day because I have a lot of medically fragile students and a large number of asthmatics. I have 81 known students with asthma out of 1077 students. How does that compare with others of you out there on the forum?
