StudyGroup101 Materials

Published

Hello, I was looking on Ebay for my EC testing books, etc. I saw this StudyGroup101 that sells CD Roms or digital downloads. The price of the information is only like $10 (at least for A&P). I was a bit shocked at how inexpensive it was. I think I may do better with a hard copy of stuff to study from but I figured what the heck I could just download and print it out. Has anyone used this study material and had success?

I used REA to CLEP my Sociology and passed with exactly a 50. I'm looking for not such a close call on future exams.

Thank you,

Kristina LPN

I purchased one of their CDs and downloaded the notes. They seem to be more than adequate for the price. I would have liked practice questions though. You should get the practice exams from EC. Even though they're $60 apiece, people say they are worth it.

Thanks, I just started reading about LisaArends too. I wonder if both will do to pass. I heard from some fellow LPNs that I went through LPN school with that most of the stuff on NC is stuff we kinda already know and it's more of a review? I'm yet to find out, I'm about to purchase NC1 TCN study from Ebay, but if I can get good study mats for even more inexpensive then that sounds great. Thanks!!

Studyguide101 helped me a lot in passing EC Health Safety test. I'm preparing for Chronicity. Just got an email yesterday from EC, I can go ahead and enroll. Make sure you buy the practice test, it's worth your money!

I used these because they were portable and I took them to work. I think they were worth the money IMHO. I also used textbooks and the practice exams were a big help too.

Specializes in EMS, ED, Trauma, CEN, CPEN, TCRN.

I really found SG101's materials to be VERY comprehensive. I almost wouldn't just call them "notes." I used their materials in addition to the textbooks and EC practice exams.

I have used Studygroup 101 and Lisa Arends. They are both worth the money. I like Studygroup because I Can print out all the pages to take with me for studying. Lisa Arends has great material as well, but I could not print out certain parts of it. Like the final review sessions which I desperately needed to print out and take to work on the ambulance with me. That way I could review and study while on shift. By the time I got to NC 5 I was exclusively using Mystudygroup101, EC practice exams and the content guides. I have NC7 left and hope to knock it out friday.

Specializes in OB, ER, SDS, ENDO, PACU.

I bought all of the books EC recommended for my first test. When I received all of them I took one look at the 3 foot pile and panicked. I then went to E-Bay and ordered Study Group 101 and Lisa Arends notes. I never looked at a single book and passed all of my tests, two with a B (totally my own fault for not putting much effort into studying) and the rest with an A. I would definately recommend the EC practice tests. They are worth every penny. I personally like Lisa Arends notes the best. They just seem to be more comprehensive and better organized. That's my own opinion though, they are both good.

I'm using StudyGroup101 for my GenEds - Religions, Life Span Psych, Anatomy and Micro - I'm working on Gerontology and ethics now. Their guides are very comprehensive and they include lots of practice questions and some really good web links. I think they are WAY more organized and easier to read then Lisa Arends...totally printable and NO PASSWORDS and about 5 years newer!! My sister used the Nursing study guides and passed all of them almost without opening a book. Studygroup101 is so worth the $10 bucks! Claire

I've used Study Guide 101 notes for Chronicity, Reproductive Health, Lifespan 1, but Lisa Arends notes were more organized and useful for Lifespan 2 & 3 and now for my studying for Transition to the Registered Nurse Role. I've used the practice tests from both study guide 101 and lisa arends.

I like SG101's notes. they are a good source and thorough. I purchased them in a bundle on one CD from
