Stethoscopes

Hello all.

I hear a lot of talk about stethoscopes like the brand, etc. In yalls experience, what is the best stethoscope to use and why?

I bought a cheap-o one for my first semester and had trouble hearing sometimes. Any suggestions?

My 3M Littmann Classic II SE has been going strong for 3 semesters and you can have it when you remove it from my cold, dead hands.

Specializes in None.

I have a Litmann Lightweight and I love it!

I am using a Littmann Master Cardio, I LOVE it. The diaphragm and bell are contained on the same side, which makes it easy to switch. I can hear everything with this. Like PP, you'll be prying that out of my cold, dead hands. ;)

Cardiology III. I was torn between it (which I've had before) and a Master Cardiology. I think the Card 3 is cooler looking so I went with it, lol.

Ultrascope ftw! I hear better with it than my Littmann. Plus? I picked the tubing color and diaphragm design. NO ONE will accidentally walk off with my scope.

I second the Littman Classic II SE. I was also able to pick the tubing color and had it engraved for free.

Lol. It seems like almost everybody loves Littmann.

I have been also looking. My husband is uses a littman and I really like it and was thinking about getting the master classic, so I was wondering if anyone out there has one and likes it? Also if I can add another question to the thread-Where did everyone get theirs?

I have a Littmann Lightweight, and I absolutely love it!

You will find many people like/love Littmann! Welch Allyn is another great scope brand but also equally expensive. Prestige and ADC make great comparable scopes at more frugal prices...
