Apr 5, 201313 yr I was just wondering if anyone has experienced an online statistics course? Not sure what to expect...
May 4, 201313 yr I experienced it last summer. I'm not a super math-y person, so I don't know what I was thinking. There were no lecture materials of any type - basically we were expected to tech ourselves out of our textbook. I don't know about you, but I can't read math very well. So I get to experience it again this summer in person!
May 4, 201313 yr Stephalump GOD bless us both!!! :-)[/quote']Hopefully we're still standing at the end of the summer!
May 4, 201313 yr Hopefully we're still standing at the end of the summer!Lol! We got this after all were future nurses!! Nurses can do anything!!! :-)
May 4, 201313 yr I took my stats class on campus. Once I received assistance on how to use the formulas I was able to pull my grades up. Lets just say I started off with a 52 & by the last test I made a 91. That is a big jump. Also this was an 8 week accelerated course while taking four other classes. I'm thankful to be done with math for my bachelor degree but i am thinking about taking math for allied health though

That's what my husband said; learn the formulas and you'll be fine!
May 4, 201313 yr Honestly, there are only a couple formulas you will actually use if you learn to use your calculator properly. The Ti can do most of the complicated formulas by just entering the data.
May 4, 201313 yr Yeah, I can send them to you. Your teacher will probably teach them to you though. Our book had calculator shortcuts at the end of each section as well, super helpful!
May 4, 201313 yr Which edition did you use? Mine has a pair of red sneakers on them. I tried to email the professor to ask no luck. I don't think it's the current edition maybe the one before.
May 4, 201313 yr I have a silly question. I haven't done math in college at all. I'm supposed to do that over the summer. But, I'm considering transferring anyway. The school I'm looking into wants Stats as their math. Would I be able to take this class even if I don't have any previous math classes? I can't see a math pre-req stated for the Stats so that's why I wonder. Thanks guys! (In the event that I can get away with it, I would def do it in class, not online!)
May 4, 201313 yr Expert Btw, thanks for the encouragement!! Where are the formulas to plug into the TI? I still have mine from College Algebra. If you buy the TI-84 Plus then you don't have to do any coding or formula plug-ins. All the Stat functions are included. If you have a regular TI-84 or lower, you'll have to get the Stat functions downloaded. Thanks for the support I got accepted into the nursing program...yay!!! I start in the Fall and I'm just thrilled
