YouTube was my best friend in stats! As many have mentioned it is very time consuming, and takes practice.. I didn't take stats online, but I had a professor whose voice put me to sleep (it was bad!), so youtube and google and a TI-83 saved me and I made an A in the class.. Practice the formulas and putting them in your calculator and you'll be good!

I think it all depends on your previous experience with math. I consider myself pretty good at math. I took stats online and got an A. It wasn't super easy, but it wasn't hard either (I found college algebra more difficult for sure!). I found that if I practiced some problems from the text and memorized the formulas for each particular exam, that I was able to get at least a low A on every exam. (As a side note, we took exams on campus. During exams, We were not allowed to use graphing calculators because you can program formulas into them. We could only use 4- function calculators and blank scratch paper the prof gave us. They made us take proctored exams on campus to cut down on cheating, from what I heard.) If you struggle with math though, I might think about class instruction instead. Best of luck!

I have taken online statistics. Got a B+ because I was right in the first trimester of my first pregnancy and screen-flicker made me so sick that I couldn't sit in front of the computer and lost points on the discussion questions. Anyway, I was lucky to have an in-house tutor, DH, and he would sit with me and teach me the lessons on paper and from the book. I learned a lot, though I can't say I am any kind of expert, but it wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be.

I was able to pull a low B out of my Statistics class.

I just finished my online Stats class and ended up with an A. It was a LOT of work and I am so glad it's over! It ended up being really close and came down to the proctored final. It's scary to think if I had gotten one more wrong I would have gotten a B.

The best advice I can give anyone is to make sure you stay on top of the workload, or it will be hard to recover. Also, YouTube is a great resource for stuff you don't completely understand. Find every calculator shortcut you can, they'll save your sanity. Lastly, do as many practice problems as you can. Good luck, Stats is a CHORE!!

I give you all credit for taking statistics online. It must have taken a lot of discipline to do it independently. When I took Statistics in the fall it was on campus.

I have just completed an 8 week stats class.. it was a challenge. I am average when it comes to math but this class was one of the hardest I've had. You need to really stay on top of the work and you'll be okay.

Hello to everyone I ordered my Stats book and it looks like a foreign language!!! Lol! I'm taking it this summer online. It came with a cd and I hope it helps. Well I hope I can grasp it.....

SopranoKris you will do fine you seem to speak the language well!! You've done we'll in all of your classes thus far. Have you heard anything from your nursing program?

Btw, thanks for the encouragement!! Where are the formulas to plug into the TI? I still have mine from College Algebra.
