Out of curiosity, do you know if the interview is a group interview or a solo one?

Thanks in advance !

Did anybody hear about SF State's School of Nursing losing funding? Does anybody know how this will impact students and their futures? What are your thoughts? I am a prospective ELMSN student and will have to make a decision between the school I got into and, hopefully, SF State.

Does the ELMSN program not have a preceptorship?? I don't know how I missed this. Can anybody please verify? It seems that a preceptorship is pretty crucial.

Hi Macaroni84,

I believe the students have to find their own preceptorship. I'm not 100% sure, but I think I've seen this fact written in earlier threads of SFSU.

Regarding your funding question, I heard they were only accepting 10 students this round due to the lack of funding. However, @leeezy pointed out that the school will be accepting 20.

Personally, if I were in your position, I would stick with the sure bet and go to the school I was already accepted to and not wait for other schools (but that's only because I've applied in previous years and I know firsthand the sting of rejection!).

Best of luck!

Hey everyone,

By the looks of other threads, it seems people are already hearing back from the other programs that SFSU has to offer. So far, people from the SFSU MSN FNP have heard back, and the SFSU Sequoia cohort is having their interviews.

Either the SFSU BSN and ELMSN are the last to hear back, or none of us on this thread were accepted!

Hopefully we hear back soon, and with good news. In the mean time, let's keep this thread alive and update each other, yeah?

How were people notified? Email? Mail?

I applied for the FNP track and was notified via email in addition to a change in status on SFSU Gateway Student Center. I'm not quite sure either of the amount of students they will be accepting. Best of luck :)!!

I wouldn't worry too much yet! The SFSU/Sequoia applicants were told we'd be notified at the end of April. Good luck!

Seems like mid-April/end of April can't come fast enough!

I also applied for the ELMSN, Clinical Nurse Specialist program. I called the nursing department and they notified me there would be 20 seats available and decisions would be made in mid to late April. Sounds extremely competitive with that many seats.. Good luck everyone!!:)

20 seats?! Do you know how many applications they received? Also, do they divide up the seats between the different specialties offered? Like 5 spots for Peds and 5 spots for Women's Health and so on?
