searching for FNP program that will accept my transfer credits

PLEASE HELP! I was currently enrolled at SU online FNP program and dismissed from the program in March of this year. I just recently found out I was "dismissed", because my grade for the class was a W, as if I withdrew from the class. So I was under the assumption that I could just apply to the on-campus program. I only had about 6 more months to complete the FNP program, my GPA 3.8, good standing, and no other concerns. However, I submitted all three of my assignments in one day versus two separate days which is the policy. Therefore, the "computer" kicked me out of the class twice due to attendance and I had to put in an appeal. I was told that was my ONLY option. I can put in an appeal and if its denied a year later place another appeal, I can NEVER apply to the school again. Well guess what? My appeal was denied, even after submitting emails from the instructor with correspondence about submitting the work and other supporting documentation and I received a bill in the mail for the two classes the computer withdrew me from the following week, no hesitation. I need to find a reasonably priced FNP program that will accept my transfer credits from SU so I don't have to start this whole program over again. I am just floored that all of my hard work, A's, monies paid, and credits earned are gone down the drain? There is nothing else I can do? I was not late submitting assignments, I was not on academic probation, I was inducted into the international nursing honors society due to my grades and now I am just dismissed and there is nothing I can do or nobody who can help me. Please can anyone advise me on what to do? I am so lost, hurt, and confused. Thanks a bunch

My online NP program transferred 9 credits (3 classes); advanced health assessment, plus lab, pharmacology, and advanced patho. I just had to provide the syllabus for the courses and my transcript. You'll just have to send out two transcripts to the accrediting bodies to sit for your test because they need the transcript where each class came from.

Just call the schools and ask about their policies, specifically the school of nursing policies as requirements can vary department to department within a college.

Good luck!

I'm a South University student pretty much in a similar situation, did you find a resolution?

Just wondering, which school did you transfer to that accepted your credits?

Hi.

I am in the same boat. I was dismissed from the program because my Instructor claims she didnot see my preceptor evaluation. I wrote an appeal for the fail grade she gave me, but still yet nothing. I am Looking forward to take south university to court. I passed the course but she gave me a fail grade. I have contacted the necessary bodies but I am being ignored. Any advice?

Seek the help of an attorney. Also, have y'all thought about filing a class action complaint against SU with the department of education and/or your loan service provider (if you took out a student loan)? There seems to be a pattern here if everyone is being kicked out for questionable purposes near the end of the program. Maybe try searching for similar stories to prove that hypothesis to support your complaint. If an attorney recognizes there's a pattern they would be more inclined to pursue the case for you.

No, it doesn't help with the original question. Most schools I have viewed, and I've researched many for my own purposes of where to apply, only accept 6-12 credit hours. With that in mind, they generally accept the 3 Ps and you're on you'll have to take a loss on the rest.

Thank you nurseBlaq.

I really appreciate your reply. even my academic counselor is so devastated the way i am being treated. I wrote to the Dean up till today no reply. according to the hand book am supposed to get a reply by 10 business day but is getting to 3 weeks nothing. They are discriminating on me. i will look for an attorney i can pass a class and they decided to fail me for a lie that my preceptor didn't send them my evaluation. My preceptor had prove and the help desk also got prove to show that my evaluation was done and posted but my instructor still lied she was not able to to see it, just to look for a way to fail me. i will fight back for real. Thank

Have you been emailing the dean? If not start a paper trail and keep meticulous records so you can have irrefutable proof of dates and times so your attorney can hold them accountable. Also, be sure to keep a copy of their policies. When schools violate their own policies and make up rules as they go, it's easier for an attorney to prove your case.
