School hasn't even started yet...

... and I've seen 2 students, from the same classroom. TWO. In the grand scheme of things, 2 is a wonderfully low number, but still, I saw the first kiddo at 7:55. The second shortly after, and both before the tardy bell had sounded. I get it, everyone has hit the wall and we are all ready for summer break. How about keeping them in class (if they even made it that far!) for a bit to see if they settle in?

I feel ya! Been here 10 minutes and have had 5 students and a parent phone call!!!! This does not bode well for a Monday. Only 17 more days, give us all strength!!!!!

Yup, I arrived 10 minutes early and there were already two kids waiting for me!

I haven't been busy (I hear Karma coming now), but the secretaries office is right outside my door. We have 7 days of school left. And there were 2 familes that stopping in this morning to register their kids.....with 7 days left of school. Really??

SEVEN DAYS LEFT???????? Beyond envious! Which state are you in? I have 39 days left

My normal day has been seeing 1-4 kids before the first bell rings at 8. My office opens at 7:30 and we let students into the building at 7. When I usually arrive between 7 and 7:15, we have anywhere from 20-100 kids in the building waiting for morning room which starts at 7:30. And the pass start coming my way after that...

I do love saying that 7:50 (after arriving at 7:40) is not trying when that what a parent asked you to do. Also don't use the word "Try." Just say "you will make through the day because you are not sick enough to stay home, if sick at all" because that is usually where 80%+ of these visits are.

Nothing to do with my state....we are in a 3 year project to build a new school, pretty much right on top of our old one. The construction people need to tear down the majority of the school this summer, so they have requested us out as early as humanly possible. Kids are done May 8th, staff are kicked out May 11. Building comes down the 15th. Staff won't be able to come back until mid august and school starts after labor day.

YAAS. And it's job security, that line of kids.....hang in there.

If I didn't have at least 5 kids here before 8 I am in shock!!

It is one of my biggest pet peeves when students are showing up 10-15 minutes before I am even contractually obligated to be here!!

Is Ty Pennington coming in for a Great School Makeover show? It took a year to complete our modest steel frame building.

LOL I wish!! It is not all getting done this summer. They have been building around us on open ground for the last year. Some classes will move into that new part, so the main building can be torn down. Then they will build again all this coming year, so the rest of us can move at the end of next year. Its been very interesting. For this next school year we won't have an auditorium/stage, library or playground.

*mutters to herself* 20 days more, 20 days more, 20 days more.
