Hello!
I know this question has been asked MULTIPLE times, but I am only finding old responses. So, I am hoping for updated responses. Schools change constantly.
I am 90 credits into my BSN. (I took a few years off.) I was attending Clarion University but it became too expensive to pay out of pocket since I already have lots of student debt.
What RN-BSN programs do you like? Cheaper, manageable programs!
Thank you!

My vote goes to Western Governors University as well. Check out the WGU forum and the school ratings area on allnurses.

Western Governor's is affordable, practical, and supportive. I just wish I could complete a clinically based MSN there after I complete the BSN (4 credits left).

WGU's only downside it seems... is the grading system is based on pass/fail. Passing is equivalent to a 3.0 GPA.
So if you ever plan on graduate school, that could be a hinderance. Just a thought.

I think it's well-known and reputable enough now that it's no longer any kind of hindrance. There have been WGU grads who have gone on to PhD programs, CRNA programs, and NP programs.

NP school is easy to get into. For someone considering CRNA, graduating with a BSN 3.0 GPA can bring your GPA down, not up. I have a great GPA and the sole reason I didn't choose this school is because averaging my ADN and BSN GPA together it would have dropped by attending this program.
Yes there are those that have got accepted to anesthesia school while graduating from this program, but I'd rather pursue a program where my BSN grades will raise my overall, not take it down. Anesthesia programs are competitive and GPA plays a large part in acceptance.

University of Texas - Arlington. I was done in one year. They have a certain amount of credit requirements through UTA, though, so I don't know about your 90 units.

I am almost finished with my first semester. It is affordable ($954 per 3 credit class) and totally online. So far, so good!

hopefulRN, in terms of difficulty while working how would you rate it in comparison to your RN program?
I work full time (not in nursing) and have no issues. While in nursing school, I worked 35 hours per week while going to school at night... this is a cake walk compared to that! - I passed NCLEX in February and had a hard time finding a job so I immediately enrolled in this program.
Their program is accelerated (7 week courses) I started off taking only one class per 7 weeks but now that I have the hang of it I am going to take 2 at a time.
Homework is due on Thursday and Sunday by 11:59pm I believe for pretty much every class that you take. So it is very predictable. They are very good with calling/emailing to check on you and see how you are doing and if you need anything. I am pleased so far. I don't just feel like a number there.
