This lack of functionality will seriously decrease my participation here.

I just used the quote feature on my iPhone. Can someone please explain to me how I did that if the quote feature does not exist? I'm really confused.

If I really need to quote someone for a reply, I request the desktop view in my phone browser and use the quote button that way.

Since I don't have an iPhone . . . I'm assuming Pixie answered that.

Is that correct?

Are you viewing the desktop site? Or using the app? It's not available on the standard mobile view.

I'm using the app. Is that the difference?

Yep. The app is no longer supported, I believe. The site seems to adapt to a user's particular mobile view. On my phone it is the standard mobile view (no quote button, I just went to desktop view for this reply), but my Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet has a quote button but isn't the desktop view either. Pretty cool. :)

I just multi-quoted with the mobile app that I downloaded a while back. I have an Android. It's the app with the orange color on top.

Not to appear like I'm an idiot and perseverate on this subject but for me the app never had a quote button. And just for kicks I removed it from my phone and re-installed it and it still works the same way. If I want to quote somebody I tap the post I want to quote and it brings up a toolbar that gives me the option to thank, quote or share. Does the same thing on my iPad and on my mom's Kindle. I don't have to switch to desktop view at all.

Same here. Tap post and same options appear in the app.

Again, the app is no longer supported. I believe that the AN gurus don't intend for people to continue to use the app, and that is why there are tweaks to the mobile functionality as viewed through a smartphone or tablet browser. Not using the app and when browsing on my smartphone (Android, it's a Samsung Galaxy S5), if I want to quote I have to request the desktop view. I believe what you're saying! But we're talking apples and oranges.

Okay now I'm on the same page as everyone else. Yikes! I really like the app and as long as it works I think I'll just stick to it.

I thought it was only the old app not supported and the new app is? Aside from the stupid pop up ads with auto play video from google & target, I much prefer the app to the mobile site. I find the mobile site visually unappealing and cumbersome while the apple app is more intuitive & user friendly. I don't like the way the mobile site displays at all. It's not simple like the app but hard on the eyes.

Right, I'm not talking about an app at all. I refuse to download an app for a single website when they used to have a perfectly functional mobile format.
