Ugh, our uniforms have to be all white. But we can choose any style we want, pants or dress, nothing specific. White is not exactly flattering to my figure, lol, but I guess I'm not going into this to impress anybody.
Question for you all. I'm the wrinkle queen. :chuckle I can't imagine ironing my uniforms every week, shuddering at the thought, lol. How do you keep your uniform in good condition? Any secrets? Or do I have to dig out the trusty old iron and slave away? I'm seriously considering bringing them in to get pressed every week, but that might be a bit draining on my budget. Thanks for any suggestions. :)

Get poly/cotton blends. Take your clothes out of the dryer and hang them up immediately when the dryer stops and they shouldn't wrinkle. If they gets some wrinkles from hanging in the closet, Downey wrinkle remover works wonders. You should be able to find it with other laundry supplies in a supermarket, Target or Walmart.
I rarely iron. I never iron in the warmer seasons- like now when it is over 100 degrees here every day and I have no air conditioning in my house!

[color=#483d8b]this is the exact same way i did it, and never ironed a single uniform throughout nursing school. you'll have too many other, more important things to do besides iron.

You already received some good advice. However, even using the above advice I find the iron lends a much crisper look to my uniform. It really only takes a few minutes to press and does make a difference.
I won't scoff at just following the above advice though as time is precious for you and everyones standards are different.
Thank you!

Please wear appropriate underwear with white! I see students, male and female, in all sorts of attire that draws unwelcome attention. BTW, when my class graduated we had a white uniform burning party in my backyard. Sure was fun.

Someone already mentioned it, but Downey Wrinkle Realease is my friend! I haven't ironed in almost three years. The few good clothes we need pressed or can't use it on go to the cleaners. Suits and dresses, etc. Dh and I both wear business casual now to work or else I'm in scrubs. What little I spend at the cleaners in a year is less than it would cost me to replace my iron that broke and between school and work, I don't want to spend the time right now. I use the poly-blend uniforms and take them out of the dryer and hang them right away. If I forget I use the Downey spray. I may never go back!:chuckle
Don't worry, I'm not that type of girl. :chuckle At orientation yesterday, the Director of our Nursing Program brought up this very point.
