Unfortunately my state MD, is not amongst the states, but will I still be able to apply for their BSN program?

I'm also thinking about attending but need to hear from someone who's attended.

What does the Kaplan test composed of? What book did you study for the test?

Pls, am interested in this program. How was it? How many nursing courses did you take at a time?, or were you required to take a certain number per semester? How did you study without an instructor? Were you working and how many hours did you work a week? If you don't understand a subject matter, how were you able to get help with that? Was it easy to reach your instructor ? What was your GPA when you got into the program. How much was your cost of tuition from beginning to end? Any and all info pls.

Honey, You've worked too hard in nursing school to have your license put in jeopardy. Like someone said, your not working for them, your running it. It's not even worth it. Leave now. There're other jobs out there.

Don't feel bad. The other day, I just learned from a doctor if the TSH level is high you increase the Levothyroxine dose and if its low, you decrease the Levothyroxine dose. lol. I never knew this. I would've thought its the other way bcos Endocrine system one of my favorite subject in school. Hon, like someone said earlier, always ask "why." Even nurses who's been in the business 20+ years, don't know everything.

I don't think you should be worried about what others will say or do. You know what's best for you. If you know it's not the best place for you, then u should leave ASAP. People talk whether or not you leave. If they ask you, just tell them you're exploring other options at the moment and grateful for the experience.

I also found that WGU has an online BSN program, but only in certain states. I wonder is I say I live in one of those states, they'll let me apply for their BSN program.Hmmmm.......

Remember, just bcos your positive doesn't mean your active. But yes, I would go ahead and start the meds. Your x-ray may just be negative.

I understand where your coming from. You don't want to feel too overwhelmed being it's your first nursing job. In that case, I would start off part time and pick up hours as you go. Trust and believe, there will always be extra hours for you to pick up in any hospital or facility. I'm an LPN and I work part time but pick up shift as am available; most times I end up working full time. Good luck.

I'm an LPN and yes, I've heard of it before. Nurses do it all the time. Some doctors don't know about it or don't care to know, but pharmacy SHOULD know and be aware of it at ALL times.

Where can one get BSN for less than $10K? Pls advice

Hello all. I'm currently an LPN and want to make a change. I've been an LPN for 8yrs now and I'm considering getting my BSN or doing my masters in Public Health. During these 8yrs I've obtained my Bachelors in Health Care management, but haven't really found a job that pays me nearly as much as LPN, only entry level positions. I already have about 27K in student loans that drains me just thinking about it; but I need to make a change; I'm burned out. I like nursing, but don't want to do patient care. I know if I take the BSN route, I would still have to gain experience on the floor to move up to other non-patient specialties, and I really don't want to do that; so I've also considered Public Health (masters). I really don't know much about this area or the pay grade or the hefty cost of maters program. COST OF EDUCATION IS A MAJOR ISSUE FOR ME RIGHT NOW. What do you guys think? Which one should I go for? Has anyone branch into another health field after working as a nurse?

I would suggest going to your school library and borrowing the fundamental book or which ever nursing course book you'll be taking during your first semester of nursing school and and on top of your reading. After reading each chapter, do study questions based on that chapter. Do that throughout the entire book and I guarantee you, you'll be an excellent student. Good luck.

It's one thing to say u want to be a nurse and it's another to actually get there and u find out it's not for you. If I were u, just to get my feet wet and see if nursing is truly for me ...I would start out as a CNA working in hospitals. Bcos in the hospital you get to see and learn a whole lot more than in nursing homes. Plus, u get to see what other nurses go through. Trust me, nursing profession is NOT easy. After a years worth, and u know for sure this is what u TRULY want..look into a BSN program and start taking your pre-requisite. I'm not going to lie to u, the further u go, the harder it becomes. With you being a salon owner, you might want to think about how your going to hold your job AND be a student. It's not going to be easy, but it's doable. Good luck.

Hi everyone. I've been gone from Allnurses for some years. I want to say since 2009. Glad to back and to see that the website has been updated and with so many new useful information. I remember when I was in nursing school, this site was so useful to me during exams and even for my PN NCLEX. So many supporters, so many information and knowledge to gain. Anyway, I've been an LPN for 7 yrs now.After working for about a year, I knew I wanted something more for myself, so after 3 yrs I received my Bachelor in Health System Management. People were saying why didn't u go for your RN?, well, I didn't feel like being on anyone's waiting list or adding on to my student loans by going to another expensive private school. Besides, I knew my degree would come in handy someday. I continued working in LTC while I searched and obtained an office job working with health insurance. I enjoyed it for a while, but still felt like I'm suppose to be doing more than just sitting on the phone and getting cursed out by members lol. So here I am back to LTC to pay the bills. While working in the office, I've discovered that I want to help people, but not by beside nor do I want to be stuck at a desk. I still feel like theirs more for me out there which I would be a perfect fit for. Anyone else feel the same way?
