  1. Do not waste time or money in this program if you do not want to be a nurse. Ultimately, you live with your decision. You have to sit down and seriously think of what you like and do not like about nursing (make a chart) and weigh them against eachother. Speak to an advisor or career counselor to try to find your calling. Nursing is a career that many people just fall into because they hear its a good job or makes a lot of money, but it is not your fault that you have sort of swayed from that. Just seriously sit down and think about what you would LOVE to do. This is your future, your career, your life. You have control. Do not stay in nursing because you feel there is nothing else for you. Find what you love, and pursue that.
  2. Go on amazon and search nursing for dummies or nursing made easy books. I hear they are really good insightful readings.
  3. If the school provides them, I would do that only because it would be standard. But definitely speak to someone in the nursing department and ask because you still want to get high quality materials at a reasonable price. A good stethoscope will make a big difference in you're understanding of heart and bowel sounds.
  4. Congrats! You will do fine. I got a B in Chem 1 and a C+ in Chem 2. One of my hardest classes. But A&P actually was the easiest classes for me. You want to be a nurse right? You'll love A+P and that's probably why I did so well. Because I was so interested in it. Anyway, if you're good at straight memorizing and notecards, A+P will be a breeze. Goodluck! I just got into nursing school and I know how stressful It is just waiting and waiting. But the day you get accepted into the nursing program will be one of the best days of your life. So work hard, it'll all pay off!
  5. SCRUB PRO will have the badge clips you are talking about. Any medical store will most likely hold them and other supplies necessary for nursing school
  6. It's only terrifying if you make it that way. It definitely will seem terrifying and you'll be scared, but as long as you are prepared, open-minded, and hardworking, it will certainly be far from terrifying. I'm not saying it won't be hard and seem impossible, but your confidence will grow throughout.
  7. YES. being a people person is not only about the patient, but about the staff, your managers, etc. Communication is key. This profession is not something where you go into the job and do your part, and go home.. You have to communicate with others, plan, etc. You don't have to necessarily be a people person, but be willing to communicate to GET THE JOB DONE.
  8. I just got my acceptance into nursing school. Now I can laugh, but before I would be a nervous wreck!
  9. So I received my acceptance a couple of days ago! very excited but now I cant wait to register for the 3 summer classes I have to take and my fall courses. I just want my scrubs ! lol
  10. I got accepted into the 3rd year too!
  11. I attempted the HESI exam at GCC 3 times. I missed chemistry the first time ( by a lot), the second two times, I literally missed 1 question in Vocabulary. I gave up and transferred to Rutgers or else I would have been at GCC for 4 years. The hesi is not easy. They tell you to buy this one book ( a book that sponsors the HESI) BUT you have to teach yourself a lot. I had to teach myself chemistry and physics. I will say that the vocabulary did come frequently from the book I bought at the GCC book store.
  12. I'm waiting for mine from Rutgers Camden!!
  13. 2 years for associates. 4 years for bachelors. Their both degrees for an RN but bachelors is always a winner when it comes to applying for jobs.
  14. Accelerated programs allow no time for work. I attend Rutgers and they told me that if you do the accelerated program, do not expect to be able to work as much as you expect. Traditional is always safe and steady.
  15. Need advice, comments, experience about the Rutgers Camden Nursing school, or other Rutgers Nursing schools.
  16. I have applied for the nursing school for Rutgers Camden and am waiting to hear if I've gotten accepted. I know the application date ends March 15 and the notification date is April 20th latest, but does anyone know, or anyone who has applied before, received notification before that? I'm very very anxious!
