Hey @arem, congrats on your acceptance! Orientation is indeed on the 5th of Dec and is mandatory. I don't think they have another date scheduled. Call the school up and see if they would be willing to work with you!

Newark orientation scheduled for December 5! :) excited! Just emailed the enrollment team and they said TEAS/NALC info should be going out today. Please let me know if you guys find out anything beforehand.

hey @Jszafr2, this is the first im hearing about interviews. sorry i cant help. i went to their info session today. it looks like incoming newark class is about 60-65 students. i would assume the same for stratford. the admissions lady also said the same thing about how their deposit lady was on vacation so it would take some time, but still no dates for NALC or TEAS.

thanks @lgagliano! actually the program got back to me and she said it looked like we were starting on the 7th! let's hope so!! anything you would recommend to prepare beforehand? or just enjoy the calm before the storm...

hey newark candidates, umdnj still hasn't taken my deposit and im worried my letter might have been lost in the mail. has anyone heard back from them about orientation, TEAS, or NALC?

hey guys, i just got accepted into the spring 2014 program and wanted to know what your class schedules were like. the SN website w/ the level 1 academic calendar (in gcal) showed classes starting the first FULL week in January instead of Jan 2. Can anybody confirm this? Much appreciated! Also any insight on what to spend money on and what to buy used or refrain from buying?

@Nsxgurlie22, sorry to hear that . did you try calling them to see where they're at with admissions? Just from this thread alone it seems like Newark is getting their letters first. To all other Newark students, I just called the program and it looks like TEAS and NALC dates are still in the air. If you guys hear anything else, let us know! To existing Newark students, did you guys start class on the first day back in January, or the first full week back? Their academic calendar for Spring 2013 shows first full week back, but just wanted to be sure. Any insight would be great!

@kamale, where'd you get those rankings from? US News? just curious bc ive been trying to find rankings all over the place and merely knew by word of mouth that UMDNJ and RU were acceptable programs for the tri-state area.

thanks! my undergrad GPA was a 3.3, pre-req GPA was a 3.8 or something close. NursingCAS does some weird stuff to your grades, so its difficult to say what grades they looked at specifically. Not sure if it mattered, but I graduated from Rutgers, so admission committee was aware of how RU calculated GPA. Medical experience? I volunteered at a women's health clinic and have had papers published. Not sure if that really helped my admission, but overall I'd say they got back to us really quickly. They've already updated their requirements for the program since the merge, have you seen it? Best of luck to everyone who is still waiting!
