  2. Tactful way to address staff issue

rationale: Confidentiality. They can't argue that. I'd tell my principal and he can discuss at staff meetings before the school year starts.

School nurses, I have been a bit of a lurker, first year school nurse after 15 years in clinics---I won't be returning to school next year. I was offered a job as health science instructor at the high school I graduated from, less than a 1/2 mile fr...

  6. Happy school nurse's day!

I know that as a nurse, most days go by that we feel unappreciated anyway. But as a school nurse, it feels like I am at the most unappreciated job EVER. I don't count on anything, but there are 1600 kids in this school---close to 100 teachers. This y...

  10. Considering school nurse position

T-Bird78, I worked pretty much all internal medicine and family practice before I changed to a high school ( 9-12). The first month, I had 1600 students to myself. They did finally hire a second nurse, but we are in separate offices 2 buildings apart...

  13. South Alabama Summer 2015

I live in South Mississippi---about 45 minutes from Mobile. They did mention rolling over, but I still have to reenter everything into the 3.0.
  14. South Alabama Summer 2015

Well I got mine---not admitted due to CAS application not being verified. I had everything submitted, had to make corrections and emails to CAS and it was never reverified. Maybe the new CAS 3.0 will be better.
  15. South Alabama Summer 2015

I applied for 2015 Summer. Nursing CAS has all my transcripts. So I guess it's a wait and see now?!
  16. Still Looking.......

I've been a clinic RN for 3.5 years. Before that, I was an LPN. I am still in a clinic, and looking to expand my MIND. My plan was to suffer through 1 year of med-surg, then do travel nursing. Who knows? I may LOVE Med Surg. The trouble is, no one wa...

  18. Still Looking.......

Hell I wouldn't qualify anyway. It wasn't boring at first. But I started feeling more like a " message taker" ya know.
  19. Still Looking.......

It is sad. I really could never do it unless I needed to. But there are days I see people coming in that are perfectly able to work and don't. But I know that's a whole other story. And no, popcorn not needed. I shouldn't be chastised in anyway silly...
  20. How translatable is clinic nursing?

Looking back, I wish I would have went straight into Med-Surg right out of school. I've been in internal medicine/family practice for 14 years. I think you should take it. Be aware though, that clinic nursing has gone to what I like to call " being ...
