  1. This was last year.
  2. Northern Kentucky pay permalink --------------------------------------------------------------------------This was last year...... I just graduated in January, passed the boards in March and start my new job tomorrow at a LTCF. I am starting out at 19.26/hour and that is with a $3 diff for 3rd shift. This is a normal rate of pay for this area.
  3. Perhaps it is different from state to state? I would call your state board office and speak with someone directly and perhaps they can verify the answers you have received. :)
  4. I work 3rd shift in a LTC facility and I have 26 residents with 2 CNA's.
  5. Hiya....I am a recently new graduate as well (Jan 05). I applied to two LTC and one hospital and all three places called me for an interview and upon attending all three I got an offer from each one of them! I took a job with one LTC, better pay and benefits then the other two. My advice is shop around if you are able to in the area you live in. I am extremely happy at my job, as all nurses should be! Good luck! :)

  8. I used the Saunders second edition book(red cover), and I thought it was a great help. I also used PN review cards by Lippincott. They are great! Here is the information on them. :) 1-58255-299-1: Springhouse NCLEX-PN Review Cards: full description This card deck provides more than 200 review questions for the five nursing areas covered in the NCLEX-PN--fundamentals, medical-surgical nursing, psychiatric-mental health nursing, maternal-neonatal nursing, and pediatric nursing--plus a comprehensive test of 85 questions in random order. Each card has an NCLEX-style question on the front and the correct answer and rationale on the back. The Third Edition includes new NCLEX alternative item format questions that require students to select more than one correct response, fill in the blank, or identify an area on a picture. The cards are now shrink-wrapped with a hole punch and ring.

  11. I was offered a job at a LTC facility and the sign on bonus was $2,000. I am an LPN.
  12. When I graduated in December 04, we actually had a class on assisting us in preparing our portfolio, perhaps you can ask one of your instructors to help you in this. :)

  14. Hiya.....I did not have to take an LPN entrance exam, but we had to take an exit one from the NLN and when I went to Barnes and Noble to find a book for this test, I saw an NLN pre entrance exam book that was there. You may want to look into seeing if there is anything different in that book from the one your school sent you.
  15. What company did you speak with? I received an email today from a traveling nurse company and she knows I am an LPN, I have already found a job so I need to let them know I won't be taking the job.
  16. I have two folders full of various websites that I used during my two years in school that helped me out. Let me know what areas you are studying and I can post the sites on here, or if you would like I can zip them to you in an email. :)
  17. Hiya....I live in NKY and graduated in December and passed my boards on March 7th, if there is anything you need help with let me know. I have kept every single thing from all of my classes, things ranging from tapes of instructors to all of my notes/study guides. :)
  18. :) Thank you! Good luck to you!
  19. CONGRATULATIONS NURSEJAMIE :balloons: :Melody: :)
  20. Let us know how you did!! I will be crossing my fingers for you!
  21. Thanks so much!! :) :Melody: :balloons:
  22. I can totally relate to how you are feeling, I took my test two weeks ago and had the entire 205 questions and just knew I failed. I had myself so worked up that the next day I called my state board of nursing and was asking what to do in case I had failed, the lady felt so bad for me she asked my name and SSN and then told me I passed! I screamed and wooped and ran around my office! Everyone that was in my class has passed the NCLEX so far and the questions have ranged from 85 to the entire 205! Everyone that has taken the NLCEX walks away feeling they did their worse and your feelings are normal. My advice is to you is to relax and don't stress out I am sure you passed. Keep us posted on your results in the mean time, chill out, have fun and think No more tests! :beercuphe
  23. I will do my absolute very best!! Thank you
  24. Thanks you soo much!
  25. We used the Fundamentals of mental health nursing, but I can email you all of the study guides I made while we were in class if you would like. :)
