  4. I am only a nursing student, but I feel like that is not totally out of range. Normal of 120/80. I (having clinicals in a SNF) get BP's of 140/60 120/palp (i think that is where you dont hear a beat all the way down right?) and my teacher has never been to concerned.
  5. I am guessing rac is right ac and lac is left ac. why would an IV in the left be useless?
  6. It is not just you you need to worry about its your pts. you are more likely to carry the virus arround and make others sick if you do not get it
  7. I am in a 2 year part time program maybe a similar thing?
  8. The nazarene school I went to, we did have to sign a lifestyle covenent. basically saying we wouldn't smoke, drink ,so drugs, or gamble. However if someone has a problem with one of these things and self identifies and does the needed therapy at the on campus therapy center, then you did not get in as much trouble. The did "police" us to a certian extent, mostly through facebook. however the did not send people driving around looking for rule brakers. chapel was required for traditional undergrad students. adult study and graduate study students were not required to attend
  9. 350 per credit? I am looking at the excelerated. it says it is made for paramedics and lpn's and i am currently in lpn school
  10. I know people who are Nazarene and know more about it let me put out the word and see if anyone knows anyone i could put you in contact with.
  11. No. but I attend one of its sister schools eastern nazarene college in MA. ENC does not have a nursing school but I have heard very good things about midamerica.
  12. I think you are fine
  13. One of the clinics that I am a patient at (urodynamics) uses it. every appt I have I am shown the chart and asked to rate my poo
  14. Nope. The lpn program i am in is a certificate program no degree. (this is in mass)
  15. we are being taught the literature is talking about moving from culturally sensitive to culturally competent
  16. I am just finishing my first semester of my pn program and we just learned about some of this stuff it is about becoming culturally competent.
  17. lpn can get degrees in as little as 10 months
  18. Only time I have ever used a cell phone while at work (not a nurse yet, at the time I was working in a day care center) was the day before one of my surgeries and it was the nurse who calls to make sure you are ok to have surgery. Talked to the director that morning, explained why I wanted to leave my cell on she said ok. I stepped outside the classroom for the 5 minutes or so it takes and took care of it then turned it off and went back to work. she felt that was a valid reason (especially because I was covering a shift for someone who called out anyway) and was OK with it, because I talked to her and didnt just do it. otehr then that it is always off at work.
  19. there are little clear things that you can put in the hole, my nurisng school does not even allow them, they do not care if it closes, not allowed.
  20. my nursing school requires them be removed. one set of earings in the ears is the only allowed thing.
  21. owwwwwwww that is all i can say to your story. and sorry that happened.
  22. narcotics antibiotics anti emetics steroids not sure about others these are meds i am on after I have surgeries. I am not a nursing student yet, will be starting in sept.
  23. as in the TOS we can not provide medical advice here. Talk to your wife get her side of the sory. If you are still concerned take them the the pediatrician and disuss this with them.
  24. I do not think people were to rude. The OP asked a question "can the college be sued" and people were telling the OP no, there is no point in sueing. the op wasnt getting it as evidenced by other replies in this thread. I think part of why the OP is so upset is because we are not telling them what they want to hear, they wanted us to agree with them, and so that is wehre the upset
