Hello there.. I am currently in my 3rd semester in my LVN program at Los Medanos College. Wonderful teachers and wonderful school!! The instructors really go above and beyond they really want you to be successful!

Hello there.. I would like to suggest doing the LPN/LVN then once you get your LPN/LVN you can work as a nurse make some decent money then do a bridge LPN/LVN to RN or BSN. LVN program is only a year or a year and a half. Best of luck to you!

I think nurses eat their young because of burnout. IMO they need to take a vacation or maybe change careers or maybe change the work environment. I also think it starts in nursing school. I have seen it!!! I had to check a lady for trying to bully me and another classmate and she left me alone. No one deserves to feel like they do not belong or feel uncomfortable when all you are trying to do is LEARN. Sometimes I wonder what will I do when nurses try to bully me?? I have seen it so many times and it is really sad!! So people can act like it do not exist all they want until they meet the right one to bully. I pray that everything worked out for you. take care.

I am in my third semester and I can say it is one of the hardest things I have ever done in my 37 years of life!! One thing to remember is that LIFE still keeps going even though you are a nursing student. I say this to say if nursing is something you REALLY want to do???? Get rid of any personal distractions like any crazy boyfriends or people that will hinder your progress!! You will need your most of your energy for nursing school and you only want to be surrounded by people who are going to support you not hinder you.

I am doing GREAT!!! I start my second semester on Monday (med surg) I'm a little nervous but that's to be expected! So yes everything is going great. How is everything going with you?? Did you start yet?

I started August 1st and so far it's ALOT!!! preparing for clinical, reading, doing skills and getting checked off on skills, the long hours, it's a lot!! So far I am managing my time pretty well. I have a newborn so it has been challenging!!!

I had to take a computer, a&p,nutrition, English, math,and medical term class to get in the program.

Hello ladies and gents!! I was accepted to an LVN SCHOOL at my local college. I start tomorrow I am very excited!! I just wanted to know what should I expect during my first semester?? Will it be hectic?? Will there be tons upon tons of work to do??? How about when I start clinical? How is that going to be??

No problem!!! I'm glad you found it!!! It took me a while to find out where her emails where being sent. I get a notification in my gmail whenever I have a email from web advisor. It was kinda frustrating because I couldn't find the emails but thank God we figured it out!! I emailed her about the quiz Monday. I wanted to know what the quiz will be on??!! She said not to worry it's gonna be a informal quiz.. I'm already on chapter 3 in the book. Its very informative.

Look in your web advisor under your clutter mail. The instructor wanted us to send her a confirmation email. There is also instructions on how to navigate through canvas an evolve. Also the book for the class is available to buy at the book store. Be sure to send the confirmation email by 12 midnight 7/27
