  1. Hairy legs........OH NO!!!!
  2. Nice quote! Thank you. I have information from my book. I just am not the creative type. Unfortunately my instructor wants a physical object, not just us singing or interacting with the client, which I agree is the best play. :)
  3. I always have dreams about being late to clinical, which in turn makes me wake up at 3 am and not being able to go back to sleep and having to be at the hospital at 6 am! I'm in 3rd semester of 4 and still having them, so not sure if it will ever end. :)
  4. Hello! Third semester nursing student here. Working on my 5 weeks peds class and we have to do a play project. My client is a 3 month old. I know this age range is the trust vs. mistrust but I'm not sure how to incorporate play into that. I was thinking of maybe doing a sensory board or sensory bag! In your opinion do you think either of those would be too old for the client. It also has to be 15 minutes of play time. That seems like a lot for one or two things for a 3 month old. Any help is appreciated.
  5. I sell thirty-one which is bags and totes and purses and I carried a bag called organizing utility tote. It had five pockets outside and fit my book and binder perfectly. I even got it to match my school colors and we offer personalization so mine said nursing stuff. Let me know if you want me to post a pic. It was durable and cute.
  6. My rn program started with 80 and going into second semester with 47!! :-/
  7. Relax and enjoy free time. I was the same way at the start of my first semester. You will have deadlines, etc in due time. Enjoy your freedom now. :-)
  8. I gave a 6 month notice. I was in accounting/payroll for a big realty company. I had to train someone else for my job that's why I gave such a big notice. Good luck.
  9. I'm using the ARC notebooks only at staples. They are pretty cool. You can take pages out and move to different sections if you need to.
  10. I'm nervous about it as well. We do have tons of practice in lab however aren't allowed to do IVs until we graduate so no practice on humans until we are in the real world. That is scary to me. Lol.
  11. We pre assess the night before. We have to have our drug cards with us on clinical day and I just take my lab diagnostic book and my nursing diagnosis book. They are small pocket size so that's all I take. We have 12 hour clinicals so I really don't have time to research book. I guess that's why we pre assess the day before so we are prepared.
  12. Ebooks came with our "box" of books. However I find them hard to navigate. I'm a visual, hands on learner and not having pics and boxes to see (ebook version) throws me off. Now I hated carrying those 2000 page books around as well soooooo hold your hats, I unbinded my text books. Each chapter is in its own sheet protector and I take the one out for the module we are working on. I love it however I was nervous taking apart my book but I did!! Lol.
  13. Thank you for posting this. I am in the same boat and am super discouraged. Your post makes sense to me and I wanted to thank you. Any other tips you have would be awesome. Thanks.
  14. Thank you. We do have online resources consequently enough they are the same questions and such that is in the textbook. Lol. I will check out the made easy book. Thanks.
  15. Sorry I left out some information. It's the fundamentals class. I do the questions in book and online. I also have the fundamentals success book which has nclex style questions.
  16. Ugh. I'm in need of help. We have to have an 80 to pass class. I currently have exactly an 80 which gives me no leeway. I got an 86 first test, 78 second test, and 76 third. I'm going the wrong way. I'm trying to study the best I can but obviously it's not helping. Any tips, ideas, suggestions to help me study more efficiently?! I'm tactile, visual learner. Any help would be great. Thanks.
  17. There is also a book called fundamentals success! It goes with our chapters and is great. I've even found one or two the questions on tests are pulled from this book and some are reworded. Work the rationales and study from those. Good luck.
  18. Thanks to everyone. I talked with instructor and she said it was a silly mistake. So I'm running through it over and over in my head. I will apparently just have to give one med and then do another time med. And trust me I will not forget. Lol. Vital signs tomorrow...ehp!!! Thanks again.
  19. Thanks. My goal was not to fail and then I did. Just discouraged about it but I guess just practice and practice. Unfortunately our instructors don't give us much time other than class/lab time so I will find a partner to critique me!
  20. So I had my third check off today; medication administration and I failed. I have to do recheck next week but its killing me and I'm so upset. My scenario was I gave my 0730 meds and then instructor said to give 0900 meds and well because I didn't physically leave the room my mind didn't think I left and I forgot to ID the patient. Ugh!!! Anyone else fail check offs? How'd you get through it and not beat yourself up!!
  21. Applied today and will be a total wreck until November when I find out. Ugh why does it have to take so log?!
  22. I'm taking tomorrow. Any tips on what to review for Chemistry? Please and thank you.
  23. I'm sure this has been posted a million times, but I can't find it. I take my TEAS tomorrow and I have done everything suggested on this site: ATI study guide, practice tests and McGraw practice tests. My question is: in order to apply for my progam it states I need to score in the 45th composite national percentile. So about what do I need to score? Please help!
