I am on a H/O unit and we see a lot of anti-emetics (Zofran, phenergan gel and Ativan), pain meds (dilaudid, toradol and morphine) and antibiotics (vancomycin and cefepime). Some others include nystatin, Pepcid, Benadryl, decadron, Colace. These are probably the most common for our unit. Best of luck!!

Love my Med Couture and have not had any problems. I too tend to air dry my scrubs.

I like Med Couture; they come in petite and are a little stretchy.

I have worked full-time since I began nursing school and was pretty much told the same thing. I am here to tell you it can be done. I have made all A's with the exception of one B (missed an A by less than a point). Time management is key. Don't let anyone tell you you can't. Good luck!!

Absolutely it is possible. I work full time as a CNA in a hospital on the weekends (nights) and have managed to make A's in my nsg classes. As someone has said, time management is key and lots of support from hubby. I actually think my job has helped me with school. I actually think that my job helps me relate things that are learned in class. Hope that helps and good luck!!

I started using my NCLEX book during my first med/surg class and I have used it for Peds, OB and now my second Med/surg class. It has been amazing. It is the Saunders and I can't say enough about it. I don't think you could ever practice that style of question too much. Good luck with school.

The books I use most are my drug guide book, nursing care plan book, and my Saunder's NCLEX book. I use them all the time.

I have the rasberry Littmann too and love it. Works great. I thought I would have an unusual color but of the 19 in my lab class 4 of us had the exact same color. Great minds :) Good luck with school.

We wear all white which I'm not thrilled about but we can choose any brand we want which is great.

I have three Danskos and two of them are 38 and the other is 37. I usually wear a 7.5. Definitely try on before you buy. They vary slightly.

I had the very same question a year ago. I was so worried that I wouldn't be able to make the grades and work full time. I didn't have a choice and i am still nervous going into my last year that I will be able to continue my success. The bigggest suggestion that I can give to you is time management. The other thing that I did is take the weekend off before each semester final to make sure I had plenty of time to study. Good luck - plan ahead and you'll do great.

I don't know if A and P 2 was easier but certainly more interesting to me therefore making it easier to study for and learn. Made A's in both but if I had to do one over again it would be AP2. Just my opinion.

We learned the skill in our second semester and I had one opportunity to start one (got it on first attempt :) )

I am using the Saunders NCLEX book and found it very helpful. It summarizes the material and gives rationales for the questions that are at the end of the sections. It too comes with a CD. My textbook didn't have a useful study guide so I used this for the study guide. It's pricey but am glad I splurged on this one. I'm sure there are other good ones out there but just wanted to share.Hope you find a good one.

I am just starting NS in the fall and currently work in Peds as a PCA and loooove it. My plans are Peds (or maybe Land D). I am keeping an open mind.

I think you'll like them. I am 5'2" and I wear the medium petites and they fit perfectly. I accidentally picked up the regular length once and OMG they were sooo long. I had to hem them up several inches. Happy wearing.

As of about 2pm today I will be done with all my prereqs.

Our apps were due third week in Feb. and they started sending out acceptance/denial letters at the end of April.

I just recently bought a color nook and purchased a drug guide in ebook format. I've been playing around with it trying to get used to it. I am planning on buying a medical dictionary and care plan guide as well. I thought this would be a good way to have all my reference books at my fingertips without the extra bundle. I can also download these books to my pc. I'll let you know how it works out. Nursing school starts in a month.

I have been getting things a little at a time. So far I have all my required books, drug guide, stethoscope, bandage scissors, hemostats, penlight, and small calculator. Still planning to get a care plan book, medical dictionary, lots of index cards and other supplies (pens, highlighter, etc.) as well as uniform, shoes and labcoat. Holy cow I guess I better get busy - lol. I have about 5 more weeks to get that done.

Mine isn't until next month also. I'm so excited for you. Can't wait to hear how it goes. We want details!!!

I had mine engraved. It looks great and although I haven't used in clinicals yet it seems to work just fne.

Good to hear that the lab teachers are awesome at Harriman. I also got shut out of the Oak Ridge labs. I just keep saying it is temporary. So excited, I can't believe it all begins next month. eeeek.
