  1. yeah I'm having problems with AN tonight too. I'm trying to search for topics in the "archives" and every search result I click on says "bad response from server". UGH.
  2. Yes this is so true. My father was a computer engineer on Navy ships back in the day, made pretty good money and got to travel, but then he was laid off and this was back in the mid 90's...Also with the age discrimination....he never went back to that job because he said no one would ever hire an old engineer!
  3. For those of you who have a pair of Alegria clogs, do you wear socks with them? Socks or no socks? Thanks.
  4. I agree with Susan317. Taxes and cost of living is much cheaper in South Carolina, but you may also take a pay cut which goes along with the cheaper cost of living. There is the MUSC (Medical University of South Carolina) Children's hospital in Charleston.
  5. or you could say "I just finished my 10 week course of nicotine patches....yesterday was actually my last day on the patch....."
  6. I think this test is very unfair. What if your wearing a nicotine patch and you show them that you are really making the effort to quit by getting the patch and show it to them. Then what are they going to do?
  7. Thanks everyone for your responses:yeah:. I went ahead and ordered the petites and I should get them Monday. Based on your responses I'm guessing they will fit okay, hopefully..... Thanks again!
  8. Hey everyone! Have any of you ladies (or gentlemen) bought the Cherokee drawstring flare leg scrub pants in petite and if so how tall are you and how did they fit you/ look on you? I'm curious because I will be ordering these online and I am 5'2 which i know is quite short but I like my pants to be a certain length.....i don't want to look like i am wearing what is referred to as "high water" pants !!! I also have to order online because the scrub store in my town did not have this pair in my size and the regular was a bit long (and the next closest scrub stores are about 1 hour away from me). Any input on my "pant crisis" would be awesome. Thanks guys!
  9. yes- if you want to work in L&D when you graduate then freak yeah that is where you should do your practicum!!!! You can get to know the managers and staff that work there and use this opportunity as a stepping stone, then you could potentially have a job lined up with them when you graduate because they already know you and like you:).
  10. Wow. Thanks so much you guys for the great advice!!So I dressed as if I was going to an interview, (which compared to the other people that were there, I felt as though they were under dressed, or maybe that I was over dressed , but that's ok because I went in feeling more confident. Thanks again everyone!
  11. Thank you so much everyone for your advice! I have a much better idea of what I should wear now and how I should present myself.
  12. Hey everyone! So this may seem a bit silly, but I am going to meet with HR in a few days to fill out paperwork and get the employment process going, but since I've never met the HR do I dress as though I am going to an interview again or just dress in my casual street clothes? This is my first RN job, so I don't want to show up looking unprofessional but I'm just not sure. Any advice is greatly appreciated! Thanks.
  13. Well since you stated that "The ADN will take just as long as the BSN" and since you have enough financial aid, you might as well just go for the BSN. Depending on where you live, many hospitals now require that you have your BSN. I would also recommend getting some nursing experience before going for your MSN so you can develop your nursing skills especially if you are going for a nurse practitioner program. Hope that helps.
