  1. Hello everyone..I'm looking to get some feedback on the situation I'm experiencing now. I graduated with my BSN in May 2011, after months of searching for a job in my hometown, I decided to move away in order to work. I did that for a little over a y...
  2. Americare CSS in Brooklyn

My interview was done in a room with three employees at their computer that were easily able to listen to my interviewer tell me all the reasons why she was not going to hire me. This is after literally one minute of skimming over my resume and askin...
  3. Had 2 interviews at Hospital, need advice

I would give it at least a week for them to get back to you. In the mean time, I would advise sending thank you notes to the interviewers. Good luck :)

  10. No longer a new grad, still no job

I don't think the salary requirement was a mistake. I put the same salary in my application and I was still interviewed and offered the job. In my opinion, I think your uncle is right. You have a degree that's worth money, so you shouldn't underestim...

Try upstate ny, hospitals there are definitely hiring. Upstate University Hospital has an open house on 1/20/2011 and I know for sure they are hiring new grads.
  12. Just want to share the news; I got a JOB

Congratulations!!! I also just got my official job offer today. I thought it was just me that felt things were turning around...there have been more posts from people getting jobs now.
  13. ADVICE NEEDED- Hospital for Special Surgery Interview

Research the hospital! This definitely shows your interest in the hospital, not just the job. Also, I found that it helped me to have answers to the general questions that they ask such as your strengths/weaknesses, career goals, why nursing, why us....
  14. I agree with the previous posts, it's your best bet to go to your supervisor
  15. When is the right time to take an NCLEX Review Session?

My school started us on the kaplan review class about 2 weeks after graduation which was helpful, gave us time to relax but not forget too much.
  16. How did you study for NCLEX?

Saunders!!!!!!!! This book, (the 4th edition) was my best friend for 2 months lol I also did the kaplan review which helped because they were definitely harder than the real nclex questions. I was getting about 50-65% correct on their readiness tests...
  17. When are we nurses...BSN and paid less than CNA...?

    Good luck on your nclex!
  18. 1st clinical ... nervous .. any advice?

I would say make sure you're prepared with whatever your school requires you to bring. Read up on the basic nursing skills and remain calm, you're not alone!
  19. New Grad RN-->No Jobs, Then what?

It's a cycle, what goes up must come down. It's only a matter of time before it goes back up. And I believe it's already picking up. More and more new grads I know who have been having a tough time are receiving interviews now and getting hired.

  23. For new grads looking for their first job

I don't know why it continues to amaze me at how negative people can be. I see someone trying to be positive and all some people can do is complain. -- I completely agree with this part. I personally found the post to be VERY uplifting. It's a refres...
  24. Amount of debt upon graduation?

I graduated a 4 year university debt free due to my (single) mother's hard work and diligence, my own contributions, and the scholarships I earned. It's been hard enough to find a job but to God be the glory, I know it could be a lot worse.
  25. They won't pay me my money!

This is exactly the same situation I'm going through. This agency promised work giving flu shots and despite the stories I would hear of other nurses not getting paid, I did continue working for them until mid November. From October until now I was o...
