  1. sbnrn2b don't worry about it. i will explain everything tomorrow when i come to your eng 33a class. i am going to be one of your guest speakers. i am extremely thrilled and look forward into meeting you all. congratulations again!! :lol2:i will do my very best to answer any questions you all might have about the program and share tips in how to go about surviving your first semester of nursing school. see you all tomorrow:nurse:
  2. I have the Brunners & Suddarth's (12th edition) Med-Surg Textbook and the Study Guide. I also have the Test-Taking Techniques for Beginning Nursing Students 5th edition (all books are brand new- only the Med-Surg textbook has slight highlight only on one paragraph). PM me if interested.
  3. Here are a few of my favorite :heartbeat websites that I used to help me get through the nursing program. I posted this earlier, but realized I had some issues with the web links. Well hopefully this information will make your worries little less:lol2: My goal is to give back to others and try to make things a little less stressfully during the program for you all. 4. SBNRN2B ~ When using Docushare you have to look up your instructor’s last, first name to get to their private website page. I just sent you a PM with the lead instructor name for N1& N2, along with her direct web page link. By attending the Eng 33A class you will also get to meet your instructor sometime that week. I also include the instructor for the Eng 33A class too :) I would of posted this information here on home page, but we are not allowed to give out peoples names. So maybe you can share this info with your classmates.
  5. sbnrn2b ~ yes you are allowed to use iphones, but it really depends on the clinical hospital & instructor you have. for example: sjgh - is the only hospital i know that doesn’t allow students to use a camera device on it. go with what you feel comfortable with and that will save you $$. no you don’t need to take all your books to class. you might want to bring your fundamentals book to class is you like, but all the instructors will post their powerpoint’s up on the docushare website. just print those and bring them to class. as for the other books you will use for your clinical days at the hospital to look up your pt information and to use on your careplans. you really won’t be using the med-surg book until n2. have you been to the docushare website yet???
  6. yes! you will use all the books in the package bundle. maybe not right away, but as you make your way throughout the nursing program you will see the use for them. i loved my med-surg assessment and management of clinical problems book (i always had it with me in clinical) and med-surg main textbook. i never really used the study guide, but that might change b/c the instructor is different than the one i had at the time. as for the diagnostic laboratory book you will find it more resourceful as you enter into n4 & n7, b/c you will be doing lab trends on your pt's.
  7. Congrats on getting accepted! You will have an amazing journey that will await you ahead! Best of Luck!
  8. I was in the same boat, until I started doing the NCLEX 4000 questions and tons of ATI questions. I learned overtime that you can study all the content, but you also have to understand how the read the test question, which I was very weak in. A friend once told me that content never changes and the test bank people can only ask a question in so many ways. I spend about 2 hours a day in doing different questions and I went from a "B" to an "A". Another thing I would recommend that was told to me is right before an exam is do over 200 NCLEX questions.
  9. Congrats!!! Wish you the best of luck!
  10. How do you have the time? I am always running around. Do you think nursing students should wear make-up? I see a lot of the floor nurses who barely wear any.
  11. Hang in there you can do it!! It might seems difficult at times, but it is all worth it in the end.
  12. :yeah:Congrats on being in your last semester! I am also very nervous too. I begin my precetorship in the next couple of weeks and we have to do 133 hours. What I have been doing to brush up on my skills is taking a EKG class, ACLS and reviewing all my critical care nursing notes along with going over lab values. Hope this all help and again Congrats!! We can all see light at the end of the tunnel and the end is coming near.
  13. i use skyscape they have tons of different apps. plus it allows you to switch back and forth between them all. i would highly recommend the nursing constellation plus package.
