  1. Hey bluegeirdwirl, Thanks for your reply!! I will buy the book now. Yeah, I really do understand your concern, as you don't have that much time to read all available materials. But so far so good, I honestly think you are doing great, just remain steadfast, and you will just be fine. Good luck!!
  2. Hi finalscore3b1g, The 2011 is the latest edition and in the Preface, it says they have made changes to reflect focus on evidenced-based best practices. And new chapters, questions, and case studies have been added. I got the 2011, so I have no idea what was in the 2006 (first edition). Hope this helps. Good luck!!!
  3. Hi bluegeirdwirl, Thanks for the reply. I am just wondering because the one i got bought is the latest edition, and it has part 3 (PDA in complex health scenario) included, since you did not mention that in your post. That was the reason why I asked the question, as it would be nice if you look through the part 3, it's a case study format. Wish you the very best!!!! P.S Is the exam Cram the yellow and blue book by Wilda Rinehart (2011), just wanted to be sure bl4 I buy it at amazon. Thanks
  4. Hi bluegeirdwirl, It so nice to see that you have gone so far in your preparation, am positive you will just be fine on the exam. Just a quick question for you, what edition of LaCharity did you use. Also is Exam cram a book or what, I saw it in your 5week study plan.
  5. Hi lyttlemomma, A very big congrats on your success, and am so happy for you. It feels good to hear good success stories, and more so to know that you are a LEO, am so proud of you. My birthday is July 31st, so close to yours and mcunanan's. I am just preparing to start studying, as I want to take the exam July ending. I was supposed to join mcunanan's and others on Mon, but I was caught up with other stuff. If you don't mind, what do you mean by identification problems (based off of pictures), and which is the drag & drop question. Thanks. Again, congratulation!!!!
  6. It think you are so right about this, the best way is to know the classes of drugs. Thanks

  8. Hi Ethanphil, I will be more than happy to do that for you. Enjoy your vacation, you really deserve that break.
  9. It means Select All That Apply.
  10. Hi Ari RN, I have been looking for LIU student on this post, and am so happy to come across your post. I an actually an alumi of LIU, I did my Master in Molecular & cellular Biology there. Now I am planning to apply for the FNP program at the CW Post campus, but I really need to know how good the program is. If you don't mind, can you share your experience with me. Thanks
  11. Hi abiagirlnp, I really wish you good luck in your job searching, and I really empathize with you. If you don't mind, what NP program did you do, am just curious as I am just applying for the NP programs. I also have pending student loans from my previous Masters and current ABSN, so I have been asking questions as to what NP program I should go for. I am scared of getting additional student loans, and not getting a job afterward. I am swinging between FNP, ANP and ACNP. What is your take on this, or anyone out there can also advise me on this. Thanks
  12. Hi Everyone, I have this concern that I have been battling with for the last couple of weeks. I am currently applying for the NP programs, and am so so confused as to which specialty to focus my applications on. I find myself swinging back and forth blw FNP, ANP and ACNP. I really don't know which one to settle for between these 3 programs. My main concern is the job market out there in the real world, and the new national APRN consensus program all current NP's are talking about. I am really so confused with the whole thing, as I have just completed my ABSN program, and I really want to continue with the NP program this fall. I don't want to commit myself to a program, and have regrets afterward, as I have student loans pending from my previous Masters, and now from the ABSN. I just want to quickly do this NP stuff, and forget about schooling, so that I can finally start a family. I would be more than grateful if anyone out there can give me one or two advices on which way to go, as most application deadline is fast approaching.
  13. Hi Ethanphil, Congratulations again!!!!!! And thanks for being so kind. Just sent you an email.
  14. Hello bluegeirdwirl, You are very welcome!! And were you able to download it. I am actually going to start studying Mon next week, and I will sure share my review. I am yet to purchase kaplan and NCSBN, but I have Saunders, Nclex review and just ordered for Lacharity. So am starting with those 3, and I will see how it goes.
  15. Hi mcunanan, Its so funny that we are thinking alike. My birthday is July 31, and I was also thinking to do it few days before, so I can have a relaxing birthday for the first time in a long time. I wish you good luck, and am joining the crew next week. I will start studying Mon the 14th, as I need to sort out some stuff before I begin with full force.
  16. Hi bluegeirdwirl, Its so amazing that you created this thread, am more than interested in following you. I am planning on taking my exam in June/July. You have done very well in just 4dys, so just keep up with it, and am positive you will be fine. The link you are asking for was actually posted on the thread that says "SATA's Saunders or Nclex 4000, and it was posted by glJ1322RN, you would see the link as NCLEX-RN4000.zip. Just click on it, and it will ask you to download, and you can take it from there. Best of luck.
  17. Hi Ethanphil, Congratulations on your success!!! Am sure you feel great you are done with it, I really admire you. I just completed my ABSN, and I intend to take mine in late July. I am about to start studying next week, do you think I have enough time. If you don't mind, how long did you study for. Thanks.
  18. Hi NJprisonrn, I understand how it can feel not getting into your top choice of school, but don't let that weigh you down so much. I know it can be very depressing at times. Honestly, I have no idea what this schools really look out for in an applicant, I always put my application out there and I just roll with whatever comes. I received 3 rejection letters for the ABSN Jan last year, only to receive 3 acceptance afterward, and all 3 came with a merit scholarship. So sometimes, disappointment from one school can be a blessing in disguise with others. I think you should go ahead and apply to other schools, why not consider NYU and Columbia, since you live in NJ. I used to live in NYC, but moved down to Boston last year for the ABSN, so am going to apply to most NY programs. I really want to be in a program by Fall, blc I felt I have wasted so much time in my life, that I cant afford to waste one semester again. I just checked my online application, and it says Application in Review. I will just hang in there till I hear from them. So are you a practicing RN, as most pple applying for NP are. BTW, did you also apply for FNP at Upenn. Whatever you decide to do, I wish you the very best.
  19. Hi NJprisonrn, Thank you so much for replying to me. And am so sorry to hear you did not get into U Penn, that is so scary. I am yet to receive any email from them, the last time I received one was on Mar 14th acknowledging that they had received all pending documents and that the average review time is 4-6wks. I have not received any interview email either. So, I really don't know what is going on for now, maybe I would email of call sometimes next week. So did you apply to other schools? If so best of luck with them. I also intend to apply to NYU (Adult primary care) and also FNP at MGH and LIU.
  20. Hello Everyone, Congrats to all those who got admitted into the fall 2012 program!! I just completed my ABSN at MGH, and I am taking my NCLEX in July, and I really would love to start the Fall 2012 NP program. Don't know if they would consider pending RN license though. I found some programs that are still accepting applications, but my other confusion is the difference between some of the NP programs. What I do know is I would like to work in the hospital setting and run a clinic, so I don't know if FNP would give me that choice. I am open to any feedback from those who are fully conversant with the different NP programs, and any advise as to if I would stand a chance applying without an RN license. In the meantime, I am awaiting decision from University of Pennsylvania, I applied earlier for FNP while I was rounding off with my last semester. Is there anyone out there who has heard from them. Good luck to all those who are still awaiting results.
  21. Hi efrank17, To be honest with you, I bought all my books, as am the type of student who likes to have all my books. But did we use all the books efficiently, not really. But there are one or two assignments from each book. So if are the sociable one who makes friends easily, you may not buy books such as Nursing theorist, History of nursing ideas, ninth street. But I would advise you to buy all Med Surg books. I just completed the program last week Friday, am glad its finally over. I wish you all the very best, Its a very intense program but you can do it. Good luck!!!
  22. Hello Californianurse 1974, How are you? And how are you enjoying working in Saudi Arabia. What advice would you give to a newly graduated nurse who intends to go to Saudi. I would be finishing my program May 2012, and am planning to take my NCLEX in Sept 2012. Although I have a very solid health care background from my home country, but currently living in the US doing the ABSN program. Do you think they are interested in new grads, and if yes, can you provide me with the website to get the necessary in formations. Looking forward to reading from you. Thanks.
  23. hello paco, just to let you know that that i received a fafsa correction request from my school, saying (question #29) should be answered as 5th year undergraduate student.
  24. Hello Paco, Thank you so much for your response, I really do appreciate it. For the last couple of days, I have been struggling with the application and loans stuff, and my school would not answer the phone nor reply to my mails. I will go ahead and complete my application, and just forget about the Plus loans. I guess the reality is setting in for everyone, this is a very busy moment for all, and I really do understand because I am drained at the end of each day. Anyway, thanks for rescuing me with this stuff, and let me know when you make your decision.
  25. Hello Paco, Did you get my last reply.
