NP preceptor
I will advise you to go from office-to-office. Thant's how I got my clinical sites. Also, ask friends if they know someone. Finding clinical sites is one of the hardest things I had to do in NP school. Good luck.

No, it does not have to be in a clinic/office. I will be more than willing to do homecare. I did it as an RN and really liked it. Thank you for caring Tinabeanrn.

I did ANP. I am planning to go back for my Doctorate sometime in the future, but wants to wait to see what ANCC and company wants to do with all the certifications first. From what I have read so far, it seems like every title will come under fire sooner or later. Another questions I want answered is why do I need to spend more money for an education (DSN in this case) that will only add more money to my student loans, and none to my pocket? But, since this is the least of my problems right now, I will try to focus on securing a job first.

I am currently talking with my hospital recruiters. They also have a lot of employees (current nurses who also just passed their APN Boards) waiting for the few slots that they will supposedly created in a few months. One of them told me that If I had critical care experience, my situation would have been better, even without experience. I just don't want to leave all my eggs in one basket. It seems like every nurse in my facility is going back to schoolto obtainf their APN. It is a good thing, but at the same time, my area is almost saturated.

Thanks to everyone for the comments. They have been well-noted. I will continue in my search and will refuse to be discouraged.

current Adult NP considering FNP??
I agree with the last post. The FNP program may be revised soon, like the ANP. Be careful not to spend all your money on a certification that may be retired soon.

Is ANCC easier than AANP?
I took and passed both of them this year and I honestly think that the AANP was harder than the ANCC. I took the ANCC first and knew I passed it even before my result paper was printed. When I went back to take the AANP a few days later, I was shaking with fear at the end of the exam because the questions were harder. Luckily, I passed it too. The AANP had all clinical questions. None of the therapeutic communications/healthcare policy stuff. I now have a new-found respect for anyone who passed the AANP exam.

I am currently working with 2 recruiters who have told me that it will be hard finding a job for me since I am an "inexperienced" NP. I have 10 years of nursing experience under my belt (mostly acute care telemetry), and have worked both home hospice and home health. Thanks for your response.

I passed the Adult ANCC exam, here is how,
I took and passed both the ANCC and the AANP exam (I am a curious person by nature and wanted to find out the difference between the two). The AANP took barely 2 weeks to approve my application, while it took the ANCC almost 3 months to do the same thing.

New Georgia Nurse Practitioner looking for a job.
Hello Everyone, I am a new graduate nurse practitioner in the Atlanta area. Graduated Dec 2011, passed both ANCC and AANP 1st wek of April 2012, and just recieved my Georgia NP license. Problem is that eveyone I have applied with wants me to have had an NP experience. Where do I get this much-needed experience if no one is willing to give me a chance? Some of the jobs that are willing to accepts new grads are like 3-5 hours away. I am getting dejected, frustrated, and demoralized for spending all the money for my program and now facing this problem. My loan payment starts in June and I just don't know what to do. I am a very hardworking, smart, and independent person that always puts in my best in whatever job I do. Please, does anyone know of any practice/s that need an NP? I will be unable to relocate at this time due to family needs, but would not mind travelling up to 25 to 35 miles from Cobb county. Someone help me please!!!!
