Funny Billboards
i've seen the south of the boarder stuff.what a trip. i can do you one better tho. today i learned that an office building that is fairly new in the last 5 years has a window configuration that when seen from i95 in new london ct spells out tit esp at night when the lights are on inside the building. i have never seen it but, now that i know ,i will have to drive down to the shoreline to see for myself. :rotfl:

Concern about cheap LPN school
hi lara,i attended and graduated from a state tech school lpn program that at the time was way cheaper than that. i only paid for uniforms and books. as a state of ct resident ,i did not have to pay tuition.(such is not the case now however).let me tell you ,it was a very intensive, clinically heavy program that prepared me 100xs better than the rn program at the college here. and all of it's graduates thru the years have been able to get jobs in every area of nursing ,from er to obgyn to med surg..and everywhere in between. the cost is not the issue, but the quality of education .i recommend you look further into accreditation of the school.also talk to it's alumni to get the info on job placement and education recieved by them. good luck to you.nursing for me has been very rewarding and satisfying.it is a hard road but well worth it in the end.

Ok Need Help On Living In Ct
if you want to stay right in groton there are many lower income units available there as well as new london, norwich,& waterford.if you are navy it should not be too hard to find units they approve of or live at the navy lodge until you can advance on the waiting list for housing. there are several hospitals, numerous nursing homes and assisted living housing to find work as a nurse.we have many colleges and universities nearby to do more studies if you wish or to meet new people. i think you will like it here and if you need someone to talk to give me a shout,by all [email protected]

still hoping to get to know you
hello to you new posters. i will gladly talk all day about connecticut and the great nurses and nursing students that are here. i often thought of retiring to someplace warmer when the time comes but this year i am thinking that florida is not the place . if i didn't love the ocean so ,i might consider arizona. but i have the feeling i will stay in my fave state til i die.

Our Troops - The Real Stars!!!
i was thrilled to find your post and was very glad i did. i wholeheartedly agree with ben stein. it angers me that people like barbara streisand stand on thier soapbox and tell everyone to conserve energy while she lives in a gszillion room mansion with every light and pool filter running full balst (not to mention her airconditioning)! also noted your profile. it looks like we may have a few things in common. maybe we can chat sometime.have a great holiday.

What's it like in CT?
:balloons: i agree with pokey....ct is a great state to work as an lpn.it is also good in many communities but i live in southeastern ct. and i feel it is a much better place to be than the big cities. also you need to like snow and driving in it and cold weather. but here in our part of the state we get much fewer storms than the northwest hills does. do you have relatives or friends up north here or would you be coming without any support that way? good luck and if you wanna talk or hear more about here just let me know.

Sad story 480-pound woman dies after six years on couch
:angryfire having been a hha and a nurse for the local vna ,i was appalled to read of this poor woman's situation and needless suffering. noone should ever live in those conditions. can you just imagine laying in your own waste long enough to become fused to the sofa. people need to be held accountable for what happened to her. i am angry beyond believe. that just makes me beg all of you to pay attention to your neighbors and know who lives there .get involved if only to understand the big picture so that if you can help someone sooner, this will never happen to another human being. and here's what else angers me......if this had been an animal...dog or elephant even, you would see protesters everywhere dogging the family and her "spouse" like you never see for a fellow human being.that is not right!!

still hoping to get to know you
I hope things are well with you Trish. I know you love CT as I do but how will you stand the cold and snow again? I hate it but this is my home for over 30 years. Maybe when we retire? Hmmmm..........

wanting to come to conn.....need info please
There are 4 smaller hospitals in the New London and Windham counties of CT.One of them is a trauma center. We also have quite a few medical clinics. I think except for Hartford,Bridgeport, and New Haven most of our hospitals are of the scale you seem to be asking about.
