  1. Hi tps12, did you take the job at Butner? If so, how is it going for you?
  2. Focus on your work. Stop worrying about others.
  3. I couldn't have said it better myself.
  4. thanks for the head up jobo.84
  5. The test is really not that difficult. Just study for it using the ATI Study Guide and McGraw Hill's Nursing Entrance Exam Study Guide. Buckle down and study these textbooks 3 weeks before you take the test and you should do fine. Also I would recommend that you purchase the practice exams on the ATI test website. Questions on there accurately reflect the sort of questions you will see on the test. Good luck!!
  6. I had a phone interview with a CRNA and she advised me to try and get into CTICU. She said that working at CTICU would help prepare you for CRNA school.
  7. Congratulations. I'm glad to hear that your persistence has paid off.
  8. Where did you get your info for the minimum required test scores for SMU? Their TEAS requirement is Adjusted Individual Score (74.7%), Reading (87.5%), and Math (68.9%). Its stated here: Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ABSN) Admission Requirements | Samuel Merritt University
  9. CONGRATS on the new job! Hard work does pay off.
  10. I have been doing a lot of research into various ABSN programs. From what I have learned, they don't care about what undergrad you went to. A lot more importance is placed on the grades you received for the pre-requisite (sciences in particular) courses. I would highly recommend that you consider re-taking the Org Chem (maybe at a cheaper community college) course. A low grade on a science pre-requisite will negatively impact your chances of getting into an ABSN program.
  11. Reina, you can also try volunteering at your local hospital while attending school. This would be a good way to get your foot in the door as well.
  12. Wormie: Sorry to hear. I hope you find something soon.
  13. Wormie, How long have you been looking for a job? Have you considered working in rural areas? Reason I'm asking is because I'm planning to pursue my BSN next year and want to get a better idea of the job market.
  14. I don' think you need to purchase them. You can actually find teas flashcards for free at the FlashCard Exchange. Go here (teas Flashcards).
  15. Thanks for the heads up CSUSM10. I'm planning on taking the test (v 4.0) by the end of this month. I just ordered the textbook from ATI.
  16. I'm studying for the GRE now myself. I think you should just take it. It doesn't seem that bad.
  17. I'm getting started on my journey right now. I can't wait to become a CRNA!!
  18. Everyone in the nursing world knows that rankings are meaningless. Its really what you make out of the program you are attending.
  19. I'm taking the TEAS in July. Thanks for all of the advice. It's been extremely helpful.
