  1. Thank you all for your quick replies! I guess I have to push forward and hopefully I will get into Georgetown.
  2. Georgetown is my 1st choice so say I take my prerequisite courses at a community college starting Jan 2011 then apply to all three schools in the Fall 2011. What if Georgetown doesn't accept me then I've wasted time and money. I really don't know what to do.
  3. Currently I have a degree in economics, but I want to change careers. I want to get my BSN from either Georgetown, Catholic Univ., or Trinity (all in D.C.). Hopefully I will be accepted into an accelerated second degree program. As I understand first I have to complete prerequisite courses. I would like to do these at a community college (cheaper). The problem is the 3 above schools prerequisite classes differ so, what should I do. I want to start classes ASAP. If you have entered an accelerated program please let me know how you did it. If anyone out there can give me some advise I would greatly appreciate it.
  4. thanks for the great information
  5. thanks for the ideas
  6. Hello nurses! I want to start a career in nursing so, I've been doing some research. Once I finish school will I be able to get a job in the Washington, D.C. metro area? I know it's an individual experience, but are hospitals in this area really hiring? I can't afford to wait months or years, I need to have a career. As of now I want to be a neonatal nurse or nurse anesthetists.
  7. I'm thinking about going into nursing. To save money and because I have a family I may attend a community college. What are some jobs I can get in a hospital while attending school. I don't have and any experience. Please help.
  8. I'm 27 years old and just quit my deadend job. I have a small child and husband. He is still working and we are getting ends meat at best. I want to start a career in nursing but I'm not sure if I want to go to a vocational school like Everest or should I go to a 4 year school. I really want to start working in the nursing field ASAP!!! As of now I want to work in a NICU, but I've heard that new grads don't get that kind of position. Is this true? I'm willing to work with adults, but that's not my cup of tea. Living in the DC metro area does it matter if I go to school in DC, MD, or VA. Like if I go to school in MD does that mean that I should find a job in MD? What schools have great programs? Totally confused what should I do?
