  1. Yes they do help a lot!! Your textbooks are alway a reliable source to use but to practice taking nclex questions and help you prepare for your exams, you should use any book that have questions or quick review information
  2. I have Saunders comprehensive review 5th edition, Saunders Q&A for the nclex RN exam. And I have the med-surg, pediatrics, and maternal success books
  3. I graduate on May 3rd!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm excited but nervous because the last semester is the hardest semester at my school!!
  4. I have to agree with your post! I graduate in may too and I'm very nervous I have no confidence in myself. My last semester I will have up to 6 patients during preceptorship!!!!!!
  5. Stop you from getting a job NO, getting into a BSN program maybe! You are right, nursing school is extremely difficult and sometimes all you can do is your best. Some tips I can give you is just study hard, but also study smart. See if you can try different study routines that work better for you. Review your exams and see what you are getting wrong and talk to your professor. Buying a nclex review book is also a good idea. I just finished my third semester, taking OB, mental health, and pediatrics. I got two As and a B with just reading my nclex book and doing questions.
  6. My professor for our last semester told us to review our notes from med surg I, because once we enter next semester we must have the knowledge and preform as a med surg I student. Please enjoy your vacation but it won't hurt to go over old notes a week before school
  7. That's excited!!!!! I'm so nervous because I heard the last semester is the hardest!
  8. I will spend time with my family! Sleep for 8 hours (finally) and prepare for my last semester, like organizing my reading schedule, make a med list and finish my volunteer hours!
  9. I'm taking med surg 2, mental disorders, role development, med Surg clinicals ( two days = 8 hours) and of course preceptorship. Final semester!!!!!!
  10. I'm entering my last semester as well, I just finished Pediatrics, OB, and mental health. I managed to pass with two A's and a B!!! I'm excited to start my final semester which is going to be Med-Surg 2, role development, and another mental health class.
  11. I gave birth to my second son on february 10 2011, went back to school four days later, took the HESI two weeks later and started nursing in May 2011, with my boys age 2 and 3 months. It wasn't easy and it was a hard decision, but my husband and parents were great supporters, so that made a big difference. I didn't have to pay for daycare because they stayed with my parents until my husband or I came home. Now I only have 8 months left of school before I graduation!!??
  12. I work wednesday 7-3 and Saturday and Sunday 7am-11pm. It isn't easy but it's what I have to do to help out with bills and expensive plus I have two little ones ( age 3 and 1). I have two more semesters( 8 months) so hopefully I can work and finish. My boss is very understanding so if I have to reduce my hours or do Prn then I will......
  13. My pharmacology class ends August 16 and fall classes start on August 23 no vacation for me....
  14. Wow I would hate that also! Being in nursing school doesn't give anyone the right to challenge their nurse if they are clearly wrong or practice outside their scope as a CNA. I'm Sorry about that.....
  15. Agree there is but that is also up to the nurse to decide where she wants to keep it. :)
  16. I haven't took the Nclex yet so I'm sorry if my advice is pointless but I would say do something different with this one. If you used a certain resource for the first, second and third use something different. Contact your classmates and have them help you, contact your professors. Think positive. You are a fighter, u aren't giving up I can tell and I know you will get that RN license!!! Good Luck
  17. Sorry to hear that!!! I'm going through the same thing right now. I work as a cna and I graduate from my RN program may 4 2013. People look at me differently and think that im better than them. The LPNs don't talk to me much lol. I had one situation when a nurse was asking a CNA for a skin assessment and she reported that the patient had a bruise but it was a hematoma so I told the nurse and the cna got upset but the nurse was impressed!! That cna never talked to me again lol. Don't worry about your haters. One day it will be you in charge taking care of them :)
  18. 6:30 to 3:00 (Pediatrics) thurs and fri
  19. Ummmm why wouldn't you have a stethoscope handy. Are u not doing assessments and what if you are in a patient's room and you need to do a quick assessment what are you suppose to do?It's apart of your job. It's not a fashion statement. I guess we can leave our clipboards at home or in our lockers too.
  20. You are right we have been practicing Nclex questions since day. My school has a mandatory Nclex review which is two days long. We have a 5 year 100% passing rate so hopefully it helps me!
  21. May 2013!!! Nervous and excited. Can't believe I'm in my last year!!! Question? Is anyone studying for the NCLEX now?
  22. Hello everyone! Just wanted to say hi to the new students, the old students and the students trying to get into the program! I'm going into my third semester and I must say its a great program. I hope everyone is doing well
  23. Summer semester is pretty basic, you learn how to answer nclex questions and so forth. My financial aid for 2010-2011 covered my summer classes.
