NEED HELP re: HIPPA violation
I did HIPAA readiness assessments years ago, when HIPAA was all the rage. I dont think you did anything wrong with regards to HIPAA; you had pt permission (I would definately get a letter to that effect from the mom). Your hospital, tho, may have some policy that some prohibits your post (company logo).

Re-entry and SCARED!
Like you, I left bedside care for a little bit. Was terrified when I decided to return. I worried for nothing. Its just like riding a bike. Just that now its a newer, fancier bike, with better streamers.

My hospital would laugh at anyone esp a new grad asking to work Mon Tues Wed. COnversely they would jump for anyone asking to work all weekends. However, there is no bonus involved. 12 hours = 12 hours.

California educational requirements?
Agree 100% with post recommending licensure by exam in SC then licensure by endorsement in CA. You may spending a few dollars more with this process but suspect you will make it up with the money you save on tylenol..

Experienced nurse moving to Cleveland - what is average pay?
Can I get some estimates on what hourly rate I might expect to be offered in Cleveland? I'm an RN with 15 years exp. Last 4 in CVICU (IABP, cardiothoracic & vascular recovery), BSN, CCRN-CSC. I expect pay rates will be lower than here in LA. However, im beginning to wonder if I can afford to live in Cleveland. Any info would be greatly appreciated, including estimates.

Making Nurses Happy
My supervisor makes it a point to call people into the office (or better yet discuss in the nurses station in front of anyone there) to compliment them as many times as she has to reprimand. I.e. if she has to reprimand 10 times this month (all staff combined) she will find ten things/people to compliment
