California educational requirements?
I agree, I have started my application process here in South Carolina and will obtain my licensure by endorsement. I have enough stress right now with school coming to a close, exit exams, moving, job hunting, etc. This decision is definitely the way to go! Thank you for the advice and information!

California educational requirements?
I am graduating in May with an ADN from an SACS accredited technical college in Charleston SC (Trident Technical College). I have started the application process to receive my license by examination in California and see that it says I must meet the educational requirements of the state to take my exam. I am having difficulty finding out what exactly those requirements are. I would hate to go through the application process and do everything right and find out that I need to take more classes in order to take my exam and receive my license. I have talked to an instructor at my school, she was stumped. I have an email in to the Dean of my school and I also have an email into CA's BRN, I am waiting to hear back from both (I emailed the BRN over a week ago about the fingerprint process and have yet to hear back on that topic so I am not sure if they will respond to my email about this issue). Does anyone know how to find out the educational requirements for the state of CA? Any information is greatly appreciated! :)

How healthy and fit are you?
I am a student preparing for graduation in May . I am a marathon runner, I practice yoga as well as strength train. I quit the gym when I started school and bought an elliptical for days I can't run. My diet is healthy but I do like a burger and fries from time to time. I want to lead by example and teach patients the importance of a balanced diet and regular exercise. I feel that I am responsible for setting a standard of what "good health" is all about. If I am overweight, out of shape and in poor health what message does that send?

Moving to CA as New Grad ADN
I live in Charleston, SC and will be graduating with an ADN in May of this year. I will be moving to the San Jose/ Santa Cruz area shortly after graduation. I have read the CA Board of Registered Nurses website and understand the application process for Licensure by Examination. My question is how do I go about setting up appointments at the hospitals I am interested in for interviews? I intend on being work-force ready no later than August. I also intend on starting work on a BSN as soon as I'm employed. Any advice/input is greatly appreciated.
