  1. Wow! That's a VERY good score. What did you use to study? I have to retake my test next week! Thanks, Melissa
  2. Hi Sacstate, I am sure you are getting sick of this but, can you please pm me? I have the ability to pm people but for some reason yours is disabled. I'm taking the teas test again soon. Just took it today and dind't do too well. I thought I was taking version V but it's the version 4 (which I didn't study for). Thank you very much!
  3. An 83% is still good. But, I am sure it's not good enough to get into your program. I feel your pain, it sucks that almost everything is based on this test for entrance . GOod luck the second time around. Was the science about general science stuff, like what does this organ do, or more in detail? Thanks for the help! And Good luck, I am sure you WILL do better!
  4. Taranator, How did you do on the science portion? Did the study manual help you out? I am freaking out too...taking mine on Tuesday.
  5. Hi There! Do you know which version you took? I am taking mine next week and I"m super nervous. Was there a lot of anatomy on yours? Any info would help. Thank you very much! Mel
  6. Teresa, WOW! That is a great score. Do you know if you took version V or 4? I am taking version V in a week and I just got the study guide. your post said the study guide and practice test didn't really help on the science. Can you please give me a few pointers as to what I should be studying for on the science portion? Thank you very much!!!
  7. My school said they switched to version V on January 1st. I don't know if all the schools are the same or not but you might want to call the testing center you are testing at. I have a feeling that all of the schools are going to change over to version V.
  8. I ordered my book yesterday from ATI testing and it shipped out today via fedex ground for $8 shipping. I received notification that it should be delivered to me tomorrow. You will have time to buy the book. Also, you can get fedex 2nd day for a little more but the ground is standard and for me, it took the same amount of time.
  9. Sorry, one more question. Should I memorize any physics formulas or do they provide them on the test? Thank you so much!
  10. Thanks, Jennifer. I figured that almost all of the posts were directed towards the earlier version. I'll be sure to review my old a&p notes, chem and science reasoning. I just bought the study guide so I'll wait for that to come as well. Good luck in nursing school and thank you for your help. -Melissa
  11. Jenniferenee, Did the ATI study guide help you for the science portion?
  12. Jackie, Do you know if you had version 4.0 or the new one that is 5.0? I am taking version 5.0 in a couple weeks but everyone on here took the old version. Thanks
  13. I have that book. I'll be sure to take all the practice tests in it. Thank you so much!
  14. It is accredited under AACN accredidation. Go to AACN and then choose IL. It's listed under Kaplan but it's the same as Chamberlain since Chamberlain is part of Kaplan.
  15. LTC means long term care. No I did not go to South Suburban. I took my CNA at Moraine and am trying to get into their nursing program. I have to get a high score on the TEAS test to get into the RN program.
  16. chamberlain is not accredited by nln (national league for nurses). it is accredited by aacn under kaplan college because it is a division of kaplan. i am not positive but, this is what their website says- "chamberlain college of nursing is accredited by the higher learning commission of the north central association www.ncahlc.org one of the six regional agencies that accredit u.s. colleges and universities at the institutional level. the associate and bachelor's degree programs in nursing at the columbus and st. louis campuses are accredited by the national league for nursing accrediting commission (nlnac). the bachelor's degree program in nursing at the addison, columbus, phoenix and st. louis campuses is accredited by the commission on collegiate nursing education (ccne). accreditation provides assurance to the public and to prospective students that standards of quality have been met. "
  17. For most community colleges in Illinois, you have to have your CNA license as a prerequisite. I am sure your holistic experience will bring an advantage when you start clincals since you already have some patient interaction. Good luck with your future. I took the CNA class last summer and I loved it. I did my clinicals at a LTC facility and everyone there was so nice. I learned so much!
  18. A community college will cost you about $600-$700. But remember, you also have to be up to date with your vaccinations and also have to take a drug test for some programs and have a physical screening. So it could add up, plus books and uniforms.
  19. I agree with caliotter. Just like the RN program, most schools for LPN would like you to have your cna license prior to starting the program so you can have experience and hone your 21 skills.
  20. MZjones, May I ask you what school you graduated from? I want to work at Childrens memorial so bad. Do you have any good advice? Should I try to get a pct or cna job at a hospital in the peds dept if I can? Thanks!
  21. I would also suggest applying early.
  22. I just wanted to add that in 2012 Childrens memorial will be opening their new building on the Northwestern Memorial campus.
  23. Good luck rnpic! I know you're going to find a job eventually. Have you tried University of Chicago? I see a lot of posting on their website for Comer Childrens Hospital. GOOD LUCK again!
  24. Oh no Naturalrays, sorry to hear you ran out of time on the math portion. I am taking my test in a little over a week. I'm really going to have to start timing myself. Do you know what version of the test you took? I took version 5.0 practice test online and I think I am going to buy the second one also. I hope it helps. I am just so worried about science even though it's only 30 questions. Ugh. Well I hope you did great on your test and let us know what your score is when you get it. Good luck to everyone on here!
  25. I took the online practice test last week and only got a score in the 70's. YIKES. I have to start studying my math and science. I've been out of school for 10 years and my school bases admissions on just the math and science portion. Good luck everyone. I think I am going to take the other online practice test they offer- they have 2 available for version V.
