  1. Anyone have any info on this school? They are affiliated with Devry and the Addison campus. As far as I know, they open in July. I am looking to enroll. Thanks :)
  2. I am going to apply to Chamberlain as soon as I hear back form the other schools I applied to. Northen, for example, would be much less expensive than Chamberlain if I make it in. However, I would have to live far away. I believe the deadline is July 1st for the Fall semster, but I could be wrong. I am planning on applying no later than May 30th. It is a very expensive school but I like that they have Summer, Spring, and Fall classes. Most nursing programs don't offer that. I also like that any pre-reqs I don't have yet (Humanities) I can just incorporate into my curriculum. This way I don't have to take them this summer or get denied entrance for not having them done. If I do end up going somewhere else, I will have to take them this summer. Every school has different pre-reqs and I'm finding I won't meet them for all of the schools I applied to. It really is nerve-wrecking. As far as financial aid goes, I don't think I am eligible either. I'll have to take that loan route too. I'm just hoping in the end I make enough to pay all those loans off. I'll KIT and let you know how it all goes. let me know if you decide on Chamberlain. Thanks Valerie
  3. i do have one question… did they accept your nutrition class as well? i think that might be it for now. thanks so much for responding so quickly. i never even considered cods nursing program because they are not accredited. and, why would i waste 2 years on pre-reqs, then hope and pray to get into such a small and program that was not accredited when i could spend those 2 years getting my bsn? makes much more sense.
  4. Has anyone here had their transcripts from COD evaluated by someone at Chamberlain? I wanted to know what classes they said would not be transferrable. Thanks:)

  6. I looked on the website and saw that it is accredited. My academic advisor told me it was not. Go figure.
  7. To be honest, I have looked into Chicago State but they require you to take a semester course before even starting the nursing program. That semester you take a class which is intro and in that class you apply for the nursing program. I can not rely on the fact that I will be accepted. As far as Chamberlain goes, it is not accredited. I plan on pursuing my graduate and need to be sure I attend an accredited BSN Program. I will look into St Francis, but I was looking for something closer to home as I actually live in the heart of the city. Thanks to all for responses :)
  8. I have decided to pursue my BSN starting next fall. I have applied to numerous colleges and have been turned down by a few. I am afraid I won't get into a local program. I do not want to waste my time in an ADN program when it will take me just as long to get my BSN (as I already have the pre-reqs). My GPA is about 2.9, but I believe the reason I have been turned away is because I withdrew from a developmental Psych class twice (I am re-taking it this spring semester). I am in no way a bad student, and all of you who have taken this class know it is nothing compared to A and P or Chem, I was just struggling financially at the time and had to withdraw because I could not afford the tuition. I feel my GPA is low because I have been working 40 hrs a week since starting school. Overall, my question is this... does anyone know what nursing programs (BSN) in the Chicago Area are easy to get into? I do not want to get stuck without somewhere to go next fall. Thanks
