OSHA VIOLATION?
When I was in nursing school, I got stuck by a needle on the pt and the hospital tested the pt. Thankfully he was HIV negative. But I don't think its a violation if they tested the pt. Hope it helps.

New grads starting at Washington Hospital Center
Thanks for the advice. I actually sent in my application either in the end of november or december. I've read that there is a dream day from people but I didn't find out about it until recently. The nurse recruiter just emailed me out of no where and scheduled an interview. It will be my first time in dc too. I'm really nervous about this interview.

Is it possible to get a job at CHOP?
Hey LoriNJ. My interview with the nurse recruiter went well and then I got an interview with the PICU manager. I just had my interview with the manager this week and I feel that it might be hard to get that position because she said that she has a lot more applicants to interview. So I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Did you get any interviews lately? Good luck to all the others trying to find a job. I know it is hard but hopefully all of us gets employed soon!

Question for nurses who passed NCLEX using Saunders!
Good luck on the NCLEX Scaredso. I honestly thought Saunders was a bit easy and I got 80's on their tests. I did the Kaplan Q bank questions and the Meds Pub questions also. I thought those two were more helpful than Saunders. Try to do more priority questions and alternate questions because those are the hard ones. For content try to use a review book. I used the Med's Pub review book and it helped me alot especially for the meds. It summarizes all the diseases and meds. Hope it helps! Good luck!

ADN RN Working For UPenn Hospitals
U PENN, CHOP, and JEFF all require BSN for their RN positions now. The mainline hospitals seem like they will take ADN. Hope it helps! Good luck!

NCLEX Question!
I had alot of SATA questions and to me I thought the SATA on the NCLEX were actually pretty easy. I also had a lot of priority questions too and I thought those were actually harder! I passed on my first try. Hang in there! Good luck!

just graduated...what's next?
I just graduated in September and passed my license. It seems like this job market is pretty bad. All the philly hospitals are not hiring new grads! You should listen to your intsructor and take what ever job offer you get bc the market is pretty bad here.

To those who recently passed the NCLEX... Question here! :)
I used the Kaplan Q & A online with the Qbanks, Saunders, Lippincott, and Med's Pub. The Med's Pub content review book helped me alot more than the Kaplan's review book. The Med's Pub questions were really hard and I've seen some similarities with the NCLEX questions. Hope it helps!. Good luck!
