  4. Contemplating move to Dallas, Tx

Since you have experience, private duty nursing is pretty easy to get into until you're able to find what you want. I have heard dallas has bad traffic but I don't think Ft. Worth has the same problem but then again I'm from Houston which HORRIBLE tr...

RNsRWe-We also have do have respite hours but that is not the hours I'm talking about because I also can't go to a job while using those hours. Since I would be working through an agency, wouldn't the case manager be making random visits to my home? ...

I understand your response. I did make myself sound like a welfare abuser! Sorry, I wasn't very clear. My son is medically dependent. He has private duty nursing (trach, g-button, can't do any ADL). In some states, if you are a nurse and you have a ...
  11. Visitors who stay overnight. Vent.

My son used to be in the hospital a lot. I was told by the nurses that I make them feel bad because I make them feel like their ignoring us. :) I do all of his ADL's so a lot of the time the nurses only come in when he needs meds and then apologize f...

  14. Ipads and nursing courses- especially at UTA

I have an ipad, love it to look around the internet but for school work nope. You can't easily use blackboard with it. I don't know if you can get a writting app on Ipad since you'll be doing a lot of papers. Also, so you can't get the right software...

  18. Parkland Residency's for January 2013

Hello, I applied to ER, L&D, and NICU. I'm working in home health right now so I decided not to apply to anything I don't love. I haven't heard anything.
  19. Newsflash: Med/Surg RN's have the toughest job

I loved that I got a med-surg unit after grad. But I'm truly drowning in it, I fighting tooth and nail to be a good nurse. So I will always give props for med-surg! You do have some of the hardest work in the hospital!
  20. Texas Children's vs MD Anderson- Houston TMC

My son was a frequent flyer there. The nurses are treated very well. A lot of his nurses sold me on TCH but unfortantely being a new grad I couldn't in. I have been told they have great benefits but I think they pay a little less.
  21. Pedi Home Health- My time with Joseph

I'm a mother of a little guy that has nurses. Y'all do such an amazing job. We're moving away next week and it breaks my heart to lose my nurses. It's hard to find excellent home health nurses who treat him like their own.

My son has home health nursing and has a nurse go to school with him. Last week, my son was in the hospital. Apparently, no one told the nurse he was discharged. So she just didn't come to work today. So my question is, if nobody notified you that y...
