I will get in touch with the instructor tomorrow and let he/she know what is happening I might have to drop the class and take the 9week course at the end of FEB if I can get the kit. Again thanks for your reply!!! See you tomorrow online Stacey

For the same reasons, I am studying to become an OB nurse and I can't wait to return the wonderful care that I received when I was giving birth for the first time! It was an experience I will never forgot! I hope to one day return to thank the nurses who took care of me and inspired me to go after my dream.

Thanks for the information, I am not pg, its a class activity for PSY and the internet believe it or not was not helpful. Many in my class say that it is way to expensive so why bother having prental care...crazy I think. This is enough info for me to make my argument. Stacey

I was wondering if anyone had any idea what a typical , non complicated prenatal visits for the entire pg would cost. Also would this cost include the Dr. or Midwifes service at the hospital. I realize that the hospital has their own charges. If I remember correctly mine was around 1800.00 for my midwives service which was covered by insurance all but 20%. This was 4 years ago, does this price seem correct? Thanks for any info. Stacey

I am so sorry for all the losses. Just about a year and a half ago I was told I had a blighted ovum (sp) this was told to me at 9 weeks, here in Japan they let everything go natural no such thing as a D&C. I waited and waited for things to happen and right before I would have been 18 wks ( 2 months later!) I finally started to mc, and it was horrible! It was worse then the 40 some hours of natural labor with my daughter. The bleeding after was horrible and very heavy, huge blood clots the sizes of oranges. I would never put myself through that experience again. I don't know much about D&C but they do seem much easier and less painful....
  8. WOW, this is a really good idea! Makes sense to me..
  9. CONGRATS I sure hope it is that easy for me when I finish and start looking for that magical career!! Eagar to read how you first few days go! Stacey
  10. Japan is a WONDERFUL place! We live in Aichi-ken prefecture, about 2 hrs north of Nagoya and 1 hr North of Toyota City. We came here just about 2 yrs ago, my husband teaches English to the Junior High School in our small country town of Sugimoto, Asahi-cho! I have recently opened an English school for children ages 1-12 and enjoy it so much. The are crazy about learning english! I will miss this country when we have to return to US but I am excited to start a new career as a nurse within a few yrs upon returning! Stacey
  11. Colorado, my homestate! It is a wonderful place to live, I am currently living in Japan and I am looking so forward to returning to Colorado next Aug 05! Colorado has so much to offer. I am not sure about any jobs or even Hospitals at this point. I am still finishing my prereqs at this pt. If you have any specific questions about Colorado you can pm me. My sister is a headhunter or so to say for DR's all over Colorado. We can talk if you would like. Stacey
  12. SmilingBlueEyes I really enjoy reading ALL of your posts. You give so much great information and your are always willing to help... Seems to me your are in love with your job in L&D! I hope that one day when I finish my schooling I can become half the nurse you are.
  13. A Doula is a woman experienced in childbirth who provides continuous physical, emotional and informational support to the mother before, during and just after childbirth. Trained Doulas understand the physiology of birth and the emotional needs of a woman in labor. Generally, Doulas believe that pregnancy and birth are normal, natural and healthy processes. This includes preparation for birth helping the laboring woman with encouragement, comfort measures, relaxation techniques, and an objective viewpoint, as well as support after childbirth, such as help with breastfeeding. http://www.chronogram.com/healthyliving/glossary.htm Sure wish I knew a doula when my daughter was born...my husband was a bit of a wimp. (Saying that with a smile on my face.)
