  1. Yeah, you can opt into the textbook purchase program on your myucf page. It allows you to borrow against your financial aid . That program opens up either on the 15th or the 21st of this month and then you can order your books to be billed to your financial aid. They just take it out of how much you get. I spoke to the bookstore yesterday about it. Go to your myucf page and scrool down to "Financial aid textbook purchase program opt in" and click on that. Once it allows you to "opt in" by registering, you then go to the bookstore website or call the bookstore and order your books to be shipped. I live in Eustis, so they are shipping all to be for like 25.00 shipping. You have to get them from the main campus, apparently. Kelli
  2. Since I am getting financial aid, I have to wait til the 15th or so to order my books! I already got my nursing kit, and my scrubs. I only have the ATI testing thing left to pay (That and the books)! Kelli
  3. I am too, but I'll probably be the oldest one there! I'm 35!! Are you going to the meet and greet the 16th? Kelli
  4. I did not make C's in any of my sciences. I think the more important question is: did you understand the material, or not? Going forward it will only get harder and you really need a good understanding of Gen bio when you move on. That being said...if you did understand the material, I would keep on moving. I did get a C in Soc and English II and my weighted GPA ended at 3.8 and my overall GPA was a 3.6.. you still have time to make it up as long as you "got It". I wish you good luck as you move forward!! Kelli
  5. Congrats to everyone that got in!!! Everyone else- don't give up!! BTW, professor ****** for chem is THE BEST!! Explains everything so thoroughly-stays after to further clarify. Love him!!! Also, ******* for A & P I or II is awesome!!! Microbiology is definitely *****. Just my two cents. I got all A's in the sciences and I took them all together. Good luck for next semester!! Kelli
  6. Hey guys! Just a reminder of my friends for last January's application- they knew about a week or so before Christmas! Good luck everyone!! Kelli
  7. For our BSN program we wear all Landau-white v neck tops with the school logo (black and gold) with the white jacket, then for pants we have to wear the Landau brand cargo pants white or navy- why 2 different color bottoms? I don't know! All white shoes-no color at all. Hair off collar, no nails of any length. Beige undies under the white pants. Our director recommends buying the guys pants if you want more coverage. I have heard they are stronger and thicker. Kelli
  8. grrl- ( is this you katie?) Yep 300 applicants for last January's start. I couldn't remeber how many they accepted bc my friend was in that class and they were dropping like flies. ( She made it through!) They ended up with somewhere along the lines of 50-60 by the 3rd semester! Good luck and let us know if you get in!! Kelli
  9. Hey eisens- The best place to take the prereqs is Altamonte (whenever available). Micro is only available at the Sanford campus! The bridege from bachelors to BSN is easier to get into for sure. I don't know wher you anticipate doing the bridge, but UCF at Daytona was easy to get in! Check and see if they have a bridge program there. Also, PM me so I can tell you who to take at SCC! Kelli
  10. I took chemistry with gen bio and dev psych. The next semester I took A & P I with Micro and nutrition. Then all I had left was A & P II. No big deal, really!!! You will have to stay on top of every class DAILY!!! Rewrite notes daily, study daily, etc... But it is doable! Good luck! Kelli
  11. Good luck to you! Kelli
  12. This is my last ditch effort to see if there is ANYONE out there who will be attending UCF's BSN at the Daytona campus in January?!?!!?! Kelli
  13. okay, I am in Florida so here is my opinion on your grades. I too goofed off when I was younger, it just took my longer to get back to school than it took you! I got a C in Eng I. My school looked at the English I (which you have a B in) All of the sciences, inc. psych, nutrition, soc, and stat. I say you absolutely are good! My weighted GPA was like 3.7 overall GPA was 3.3. I got into A BSN on my first attempt. I know nothing about Texas schools, but I say you look good from where I'm sitting! Good luck!! Kelli
  14. I took all my pre reqs and got my AA at SCC. I applied to UCF for their Daytona Beach BSN and got in on my first try WHILE STILL TAKING MY LAST PRE-REQ (A &P II)!!! SCC has crazy enrollment for January as they are really the only good school around that does the evening program and it is the January enrollment. Molly told me last semester that they had 300 applicants for like 80 spots or something crazy. Also, UCF is a straight BSN. 5 semesters and I have my BSN. Can't wait!!! Try them! Florida Hospital of nursing is soooo expensive and have strange pre reqs like 2 religion classes. This would have messed me up as I didn't really have more time to while away in pre req land! Good luck! Kelli
  15. Hello. I am starting a BSN at UCF in Daytona Beach Florida. I begin in January. Good luck! Kelli
  16. Oooohhhh, good luck! Who told you two weeks? It is very competitive. The last years January enrollment had 300 applicants for 60 spots! Good luck!
  17. I went to SCC for all of my pre reqs, but when I heard the stats on acceptance, I applied to UCF's BSN at the Daytona campus (Got in, btw). Friends that applied for last Spring didn't find out til beginning of November. I hope you hear soon! Good luck! Kelli
  18. I have that book and did A & P I a couple of semesters ago. It took me a while of studying before I had them all down well. I recommend doing a little bit at a time rather than trying it all at once. Repetition over and over every day is what you need!!! Also, I used anatomy arcade website! Not everyone likes it, but it helped me! Good Luck! Kelli
  19. When i was in Micro, we had to go to Outbreak! website that really helped us "flesh out" some of the microbes! Good luck! Kelli
  20. Live it, Love it!! Just kidding! I HATED IT!!! I googled it and got a ton of stuff. There are a bunch of you tube videos worth watching that really help explain it. Also, our micro book had a website (the publisher) and CD-ROM with MP3 downloads that were awesome. Check the inside of your text to see if there is any help there. Also, ask...I MIGHT remember enough to help you!!! Good luck!! Kelli
  21. Thanks! Ours is 353.00 a semester supposedly. I even called the company to double check! That is out of pocket! I am doing a BSN, I wonder if the type of program makes any difference....I guess I'll have to pay, but sheesh!!! Kelli
  22. Hi! I just got an email from our office administrator at school. We are required to pay 353.00 PER SEMESTER for their testing stuff. Is this normal/average?!?! It seems really high to me, but I don't know.... We were just informed and our orientation is January 5 & 6. Does anyone have experience with this?!? Kelli
  23. I did hear this same thing weeks ago. FYI- I saw them at Costco and BJ's as well as (I hate to say it) one of those gas stations with the restaurant in them!! Buy up now!!
  24. I learn through repetition. For example, In a & p I, I would take notes while in class. I would go home and rewrite them (every class). I would then go over the powerpoint he utilized and add my own notes via google or whatever. A & P is ALL ALWAYS memorization! All teachers all stuff from the book/ppt and doesn't tell you it's going to be on the test! You have to know it inside and out!!! It will be tough, but If I can do it, you can too!! ( if you want it!) If you have any questions on the material, I might be able to help! Just ask anyone here, we may be able to help you understand! Good luck! Kelli
