Ok, so my cpr expires the end of June so I need to re-new. only one class available in my area before then and I have plans already during the time it is offered. So I was checking online classes, stumbled across 'Pro-CPR', did it and passed the test but I am lerry to give them my credit card info and am lerry if it really will be accepted by my employer. Has anyone done on-line cpr? used pro-cpr? am I ok giving them my info? Help....

  7. none, stop studying! take a warm shower have a bowl of popcorn and watch a movie! get a good nights sleep and eat a healthy breakfast in the morning! It will be fine take a deep breath and know you have prepared yourself for this test!
  8. If you didn't know the bed was wet how did you know to cover it with towels? And why waste your time doing that and not just change it, I wouldn't like to lay on a urine puddle covered with towels!
  9. CONGRATS!!!! It'll be a challenge but you'll be great!
  10. Sounds like you have a good plan! It will take some getting use to but you can do it! Nice that you hubby goes to work a bit later that will help! Good luck hope you get the job!
  11. I did it for 4+ years (as a CNA) from the time my kids were infants til my daughter started school! It isn't easy but with good supportive hubby you can do it! My hubby kept the kids up late til after I'd already gone to work. When I got home in the morning we'd meet at the door him leaving for work. I'd sleep until my daughter woke up usually 10 or so we'd ge up eat breakfast, play have lunch and take a nap together. I alway lined up juice and snacks for her on the head board and have us locked in the bedroom. if she woke up I'd turn on cartoons for her to catch an extra half hour or so! And always got a nap in the evening. I never worked more then 3 days in a row Or I'd be the walking dead! I won't say it was easy because it wasn't but we had decieded we didn't want our kids in daycare and It worked great for us!
  12. i'm so sorry for you loss! my thoughts and prayers are with you, your unit and her family!

  15. You bet I would!!! Today!!! But it would have to be a job without all the drama and backstabbing, and without bullies! Wish they paid walmart greeters better, cuz i'd do that in a heartbeat!
  16. Nope we don't count it!
  17. i always chart 'resting quietly on bed'
  18. 20:1 is great I do overnights in LTC and am 50:1 days and pm's are 25:1
  19. UHM, no cna's can't even touch the machine to silence the alarm at my facility complete hands off for cna's. Before this new policy too many times cna's would shut off the machine when transfering, bathing or alarming and not restart the machine or report it the their nurse!
  20. It is different then our company. They WANT more RN's on the floor, they are actually 'encouraging' our LPN's to go back to school to get their RN. I just changed to NOC shift because they wanted an RN in the building at noc. But, being the RN in the building (only nurse) I have my own paperwork to do, med sheets, POS's, infection control you get the idea. But I also do med pass and assessments. The way i'm understanding it at my place they are going to do all they can to hire RN's as the LPN's leave.
  21. I live 1 yes 1 mile from work! I love it, I work over nights and am home in bed before most of my co-workers are even out of town! I would have it any other way! Yes, I could make more money driving just 15 miles but my time and wear and tear on my car isn't worth it for me to drive. I Love my job and the people I work with I have no plans to move on anytime soon!!!
  22. GOOD LUCK you can do it!!!
