I hate to sound like a jerk but...Did you ever think to use the call light and ask for your nurse? I mean if I was waiting more than 30 minutes for things I'd let my nurse know problem fixed. I notice a lot of patients don't speak up until the last minute. I'm sure the nurse was in your room more than once that night you could have told them.

I have friend that works @ University Hospital in Aurora CO she makes 21.-22. an hour as a CNA they start 17-19 if you have 1 year experience in acute care

Littman vs Ultascope

Walked into staples the other day and they were selling a littman cardiology stethoscope for 35.00. I didn't know that staples sold medical equipement

EXACTLY! That's how it is at my hospital We only have a Day and Night shifts though

It depends on where you apply I know CNAs that make LPN money (18-20/hr) some hospitals will pay $17.00/hr for a cna that has 1 year experience in Acute care) where I live most CNA's (non float pool) make 11-13.00 base pay BUT! they work nights and rotate weekends so they end up making 14-16 on week days and 15-17 on the weekends The CNA's that are Floaters where I work make 16/hr and 18-20 on the weekends but they don't have benefits agencies pay anywhere from 16-20 (depending on the agency) These are 3 12 shifts a lot of cna's pick up extra shifts on different floors which puts them into overtime so... to say you can't make good money as a cna is a joke. You really have to be picky when picking a place of employment. I conducted research on the highest paying hospital in my area before I got my CNA and had my RN director at my school write a letter for me. It always helps if you can show the hospital that you are in school to become and RN they seem to take you a little more seriously (in my experience)

Depends on how you present yourself! I personally work for the best hospital in my state and started with no experience. They in the top 10 worldwide and one of the few hospitals that are in the black (financially while most are in the red zone) A lot of places will prefer 6 months to a 1 year experience but they will also bend for the right candidate.
