thats so sad. try volunteering at a hospital to get to know people. speak to managers, be friendly with the nurses, and they can tell you about anyone that's hiring. i did that, and got offered many jobs as a cna, but turned them down because it conflicted with my school schedule. but i think you'd have to take the cna exam to be considered a cna, and i think most hospitals allow 2nd semester nursing students to be CNAs, so it basically depends on which hospital you want to work for. as for RNs wanting to be CNA, they probably won't hire you, because they think that once you see a RN position open up, youll take that and leave the cna position. that's what one of the nurses told me, and that it's too much of a risk to hire someone whos that over qualified for the position.

i finally mastered the skill! i'm a bed pushing pro, and i took your advice. i used the steer function to push, and when i put them into their rooms, i used neutral. it really helps. thank you all :)

okay, so last semester, i decided i wanted to switch my major to RT. this is probably the wrong place to ask, but this message board is filled with people who work in the medical field and aren't nurses. i asked on other websites, but they don't really answer my question, and allnurses usually does a GREAT job with answering my questions.... i have a 3.3 gpa, and my cousin and i wanted to do nursing. she's ahead, so she applied a few months ago, got rejected from one school, and was put on the waiting list for the others until spring, i think. her gpa was a 3.2, and she has healthcare experience, so i was a little scared to apply. before i made my major change official, i decided to check out the hospital and see what they did exactly. it wasn't very interesting to me, so i looked at the respiratory therapists and decided i liked that job more. (well, i LOVED the emt's job, but that's a different story). my question is, is it easier to get into the RT program? what can i expect from RT? whats the pay range for RTs? and is it more exciting, meaning do you see more action, get to go on different floors all the time, and nothings ever the same? that's what i'm more into. thanks

i took a&p half semester and finished this week. i have great powerpoint slides my professor made, but i cant upload them. i can email it to anyone that needs them.

one of my friends in my cna class went out to look for a CNA job. guess what? she went to the place to find out if they were hiring CNAs, and they told her they had a position open for a receptionist at the place, and as a CNA. my friend asked what the difference was. their reply? "the receptionist makes 2 dollars more"

i found a program for 675. it was called caregivers institute in stone mountain. 1300 for pct. thanks for the replies.

basically, all my grades in order: polsci- C history- C sociology- C english 101- C englis 1102-C world religion -B stats- F college alg- B chem 1151&L- A chem 1152&L- A human anatomy 1 AND 2 with labs- A micro and lab- A stats (2nd try)- A..averages out to a C? i'm certified cna, pct. i dont really know if i'll get in. my gpa is a 3.1-3.2, depending on my next grades. what do you think?

for every job i apply to. what if i volunteer somewhere. could that be considered experience? i don't understand how i'm supposed to gain experience if no one is willing to hire me.

i've heard that it was overcrowded, and that the tuition there was expensive as heck. what do you all think? does it have a good nursing program, or are people right? i'm really trying to find some good nursing programs in new york, and i thought nyu would be the best, but i'm not so sure anymore? also, i don't even know why i'm considering going to that school, because i don't think they will accept someone with a 3.2 gpa from a community college in georgia.

signed up for half term A&P1 for the first half, and A&P2 for second half. Is this a bad idea? Should I do a full semester for each?
