  1. I have an interview with Sharp in a few weeks for an ortho unit. Another poster stated sharp, scripps, and uscd with my 5 years experience would be 38-45. Anyone have specific information about Sharp so I'm prepared to discuss it during my interview? Thanks! Also what is night shift diff like?
  2. Bumping this up to see if anyone can help?
  3. Any insight on the average pay for the major San Diego hospital? I have 5 years experience in med/surg.
  4. I endorsed my license and started applying for jobs. Im just curious if anyone has info on the average starting base pay per hour for a med surg staff nurse with 5 years experience at sharp, scripps, ucsd. Just want to be realistic when they ask about my desired pay.
  5. I did go ahead and apply. According to tracking my packet was delivered today so now the waiting game starts. I complete my ADN at a community college and my BSN through university. Hopefully it works out! It says to allow 4-6 weeks if I have not heard anything before calling to check. Any idea on how they will contact me to let me know when they decide?
  6. Thank you for the response. With my 5 years of experience and BSN that I will have when I start applying what can I expect for starting pay for San Deigo area?
  7. I am going to apply to get my license endorsed from MO. I have my ADN and will be done with my BSN on May 10. I'm getting my application ready and wondered if I should wait to mail it until I'm done with my BSN. Will my CA license indicate BSN anyway? I know the education will be different so if the board thinks my ADN wasn't satisfactory then I'll have my BSN transcript sent when my degree is completed. I'm just looking to get a head start.
  8. My husband and I are looking at moving to CA from MO later this year. I have been working for over 4 years now on med/surg and shift charge nurse for over 1 year. I will be competing my BSN in May and plan to apply for my CA license as soon as I'm done. I've read a lot of posts here about new grads but what is the outlook for nurses with some experience? We are looking in the Oceanside area so Sharp, Scripps, and Palomar are the systems I've been searching. Any advice or info would be greatly appreciated.
  9. I'm a new grad and getting ready to start work as an RN. Any tips from those of you who have been doing this a while on how to be assertive (I hate confrontation)!
  10. I am an only child with two very supportive parents. Always felt (and still do sometimes) the need to please people and be perfect.
  11. Thank you so much for this post. I just failed for the first time and feel horrible. I am the kind of person that likes to be perfect and am extremely embarassed I did not pass. You helped me lift my chin up a bit!
  12. Yes, Nursing School is very challenging, but very rewarding! My top recommendation is to be ORGANIZED! it will make a huge difference on how it goes. The best part of NS, the amazing people I met. Also, I started NS at 19 and it really helped me mature and learn how to discipline myself.
  13. I also did not pass on my first try. I start orientation for an RN (well GN for now) position at a hopsital. I was wondering if they can turn me down now or if I can work as an LPN until I pass RN? I live in MO if that makes a difference.
  14. I thought usually the tell you when to round?!?
  15. Does anyone know how long you must wait to retest in MO, i can't find it on the BON site.
  16. I can't wait to do her plan. I just failed july 2nd on my first nclex rn try and really hope this works!
  17. I used Suanders for PN and passed the first time. I also used it for my RN on July 2nd, but did not pass. I don't believe I studied hard enough, though. I'm going to do suzanne's plan with the book now.
  18. Congrats! I am preparing to retake mine (failed july 2nd with max questions). I am going to use suzanne's plan. I feel very encouraged after reading about everyone having success with it!
  19. I just failed my first try on July 2nd. I live in missouri, and will be reapplying this week. i was wondering if i could start suzanne's plan (finish step 1, then PM her) even if I don't have my next test date yet. I know it will be later than 45 days so I have time, but she says you must put test date in subject line. Thanks for your help!
  20. Does anyone know how long you have to wait in Missouri to retake nclex rn? Do I just reapply with BON and testing service and wait for new ATT just like the first time? Thanks!
  21. I only got 4-6 math questions, had the max. amount of questions and did not pass. I don't think it really indicates anything, but I am confident in my calcs, so I know I got them right.
  22. I took mine on July 2nd with 265 questions and also did not pass! have been reading on here since then and feel so much support from everyone on here. Everyone (family) just says "it's not a big deal, it will be ok..blah blah blah" but it is a big deal to me and you all understand that! Thanks so much.Ready to try Suzanne's plan, hope it works.
  23. I took NCLEX on July 2nd with 265 questions and did not pass! really upset about it. Planning on trying Suzanne's plan this time! Good luck everyone else!
