  1. i too was debating... then i decided to go straight for my RN. Graduated in May with a BSN and have no regrets!
  2. i am a new grad med/surg float nurse and one of the floors i float to is the ortho floor. It is very specialized and the patients are definitely heavy, but i am learning so much on this floor and love floating there!
  3. had it yesterday. have a little bit of a sore arm today, no big deal.
  4. thanks for sharing! definitely made me smile... :)
  5. I PASSED too!! :) the trick worked for me too! Congrats BREM86!!!
  6. ahh I am in the exact same boat as you brem86. I took the NCLEX yesterday.. the computer shut off at 75, and now i sit and wait. I too got the pop up when I tried to re-register. I am told this is a good sign, but I don't know. I have this sinking feeling that I am one of the ones that the "pearson vue trick" doesnt work on... I guess I'll let you know either way tomorrow.. happy waiting in the meantine.. :/
  7. I took a job on an adult med/surg floor. I have been there for 3 weeks and am seeing and learning a lot. It wasn't necessarily my first choice, but I think its a good way to start and get into the system. The paycheck is also pretty great!
  8. I go to school in michigan but am moving back home to the east coast after graduating (in 19 days!!). i have a job at ORMC in New York on a med/surg floor. I can't wait to start. Congrats to the other grads who have jobs, and good luck to those still looking. It is a long process, but try to stay positive and be persistent! Praying for you all...
  9. scholarships, federal grants, part time jobs and lots of loans! good luck to you...
  10. get a good nursing buddy support system so you can all stress out together!! do tae bo take a nice long walk. journal browse through allnurses :) and remember to stay close with your non-nursing friends too. When you are in nursing school you are going to feel like you are eating, sleeping, and dreaming nursing!! I am in my last year of nursing school now and I find that hanging out with my non-nursing buddies is usually just the stress-reliever i need!! good luck to you RN2B!
  11. congrats absolutely13! I remember getting my letter... best feeling ever!! good luck to you!
  12. thanks for the info! i just finished up exams today, and am really excited about starting soon!!
  13. thanks decartes! do you think there will be a lot of opportunity to practice with "skills" (blood draws, foleys, IVs, etc)? I haven't had a ton of opportunity to practice with this in my clinicals so far and know I need all the experience I can get! Also, what types of surgeries do the patients come from? or is it just a huge assortment? I am on Jefferson, if that makes a difference
  14. i am doing a summer externship at morristown this summer and will be on a surgical stepdown floor. i dont know much about the unit or the hospital... any suggestions?
