  2. Absolutely not! I cannot believe the facility is okay with tnis. The nurse should be ashamed of herself.
  3. RN Associate Degree $35/hr MA Per diem RN $60,000/yr 10 yrs exp as an LPN 6 yrs exp as an RN
  4. Merry Christmas!!
  5. I passed the NCLEX with 75 questions.
  6. This bothers the **** out of me too! Glad I'm not the only one.
  7. Congrats!! That's GREAT!!
  8. I have to agree about some of the ridiculous prints I see at work. I mean really. Some of them are truly hideous. I prefer plain colored scrubs with maybe a contrasting colored piping or neckline, etc. I wouldn't be caught dead in some of the prints I see people wearing. As for the flare/wide leg pants...love them! I think it's perfectly acceptable to wear the more modern styles in scrubs as long as you're not flashing your patients every time you bend over. To the OP, I don't see anything wrong with sports logos if that's your thing but, it probably shouldn't be head to toe.
  9. I work in a LTC facility in MA and DNR orders do not expire. I'm also confused as to why you would call 911 to report a death?!
  10. I think that's great!!
  11. Go for it!! I graduated from LPN school at 28 and graduated from RN school at 38 this year. I was NOT the oldest student in my class. I'm so glad I did it. It would have been a huge regret in my life if I didn't do it.
  12. :rotfl: Congrats mis111!!!!

    Congratulations! She's beautiful!:balloons:
  14. We use tab alarms, pressure alarms for bed and chair, and motion sensor alarms. :)
  15. Hi. I was just curious what your reason(s) were for planning to leave nursing after such a short time.
  16. Thanks Suzanne.:)
  17. Really Suzanne?? I'll check my account on the pearson vue site tomorrow. I took my exam yesterday at 8 a.m.(Oct 7). I'll let you know what happens. Meanwhile, I think I'm going to have a cold drink now and try to RELAX. I'll have that party when and if I get the 'good' news. Side Note: I really hate how crazy I am getting about these test results.
  18. :rotfl: I wish I had thought of that one. Several people predictably asked these same questions before EVERY test when I was in school. Ugh. So annoying.
  19. I forgot it was Columbus Day on Monday. Does that mean waiting yet another day? I hope not! :uhoh21:
  20. My kids are teenagers and the one I've heard since my kids have gotten "older" is: "Oh. Well, your kids are older. MY kids are little, small, younger, etc. so I should have xmas morning off." Bottom line, we are all entitled to equal time off for the holidays to spend with our family, significant other, or whoever we choose, kids or no kids, and no one has the right to demand preferential treatment on the basis of having kids...younger or older!
  21. However, some people have not been educated in leadership skills and still think that yelling, intimidating and demanding are acceptable leadership traits. Memo: they are not. Sounds like a manager I know.
